There is lots to do in Whitby.
Whilst in Whitby you have to try the world famous fish and chips available from numerous cafes on the sea front. Whitby was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Dracula which he wrote whilst staying at Whitby. On the hill there is the historic ruins of Whitby Abbey which was the inspiration for Carthax Abbey in Dracula. Whitby also has a sea faring history being the home of Captain Cook which there is a Captain Cook museum in which you can discover more about the legendary sea farer. At high season there is August Whitby Regatta when you can see some amazing ships and boats. At the life boat museum you can find about the various daring rescues performed by the Whitby lifeguards over the many years.
If music is your thing then Whitby is the place for you hosting the world famous Whitby Goth Weekend twice a year, the 1960s weekend, the Folk Festival, Jazz and Soul Festival plus you also get to hear music and see films at the Bram Stokers International Film Festival at Whitby.
All in all your stay at Wildgoose Cottage will be fun, memorable and one that will stay in your hearts and minds forever.

I always love staying at wildgoose, been quite a few times, love the peace and quiet, but also enjoy my trips into whitby, joanne is a brilliant host, everything is clean and tidy, already looking forward to my next stay
Peace, quiet, and a very good location. Clean inside—the only downside was the lack of a Smart TV. The internet signal is very weak, WiFi would definitely help. Overall, a pleasant stay.
From reading the reviews and viewings the photos I had a great feeling about the property and felt it really suited the escape I had in mind. And it surpassed all my expectations. The view and idyllic setting of the property, the cosiness of the cottage and the communication/instructions from the owner and responsiveness was all exceptional. I can see why it has so many returning guests. The guest book was great for tips on where to see the wildlife and where to visit. I can't wait to return. Thanks again
The cottage was perfect for a quiet getaway and was very cosy and well equipped. The area around the cottage was beautiful and we enjoyed the peace and being surrounded by lovely scenery and cliff top walks.
Goose cottage is in an amazing quiet place with loads of wildlife around and great seaview. Everything you need for a stay is at the cottage love the log burner
Everything was great, the cottage was really clean roomy and comfortable with all the inclusions we needed to make it a home away from home. Private and secluded but close to local attractions and other amenities. Communication with host was great prompt friendly and always helpful, highly recommend the wildgoose cottage
We chose Wildgoose as a new base for our annual visit to the area to meet up with old friends. It is a very comfortable solid dwelling quietly tucked away yet still in easy reach of Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.
A lovely place to spend Christmas, fully equipped to be able to cook a traditional dinner. The cottage is very warm, we had no need to use the wood burner, which I was disappointed about The cottage is ideally placed within reach of amenities. We visited the Abbey, church and the centre of Whitby on Xmas Eve & travelled into Sandsend on Boxing Day for a bracing walk on the beach.
Always love staying at wildgoose cottage, this was my 3rd stay, and I have already booked for May next year,so peaceful and just 2min.drive into whitby, Joanne is always there on the phone if you need to talk to her
Right from the get-go information, help and very clear instructions where excellent, property was amazing, cosy, warm and inviting, well stocked with absolutely everything we needed. Can’t thank Joanne enough
