Lovely location, clean property with some nice personal touches (bread, milk, cake etc)..... However, let down by No Towels, soap or shower/bath gel/soaps! Basic essentials that most guests would expect
Located about 2 mins walk from the river and is about a 20 minutes walk into Whitby. The house is quiet and extremely well kept. The kitchen is small but well equipped and fine for a short stay. There are clothes washing facilities on site for a fee. The living area is cosy with a nice electric fire and a comfortable sofa. Unfortunately the advertised swimming pool was closed for the winter when we visited.
A comfortable bolt hole perfectly situated for seaside breaks and visiting attractions in the area. Lovely local walks into Ruswarp and Whitby over a dramatic viaduct make it a perfect setting. House is toasty and clean and tidy, thanks for a lovely birthday break!
A very clean, comfortable and homely property in a unique location. The cottage is well placed for all amenities for touring beautiful north Yorkshire.
We have just returned from a 3 day break and we were very impressed with the cleanliness and overall accommodation. The Captain Cooks Haven site was very good, situated about 25-30 min walk (with a 5 year old in tow) into Whitby and the kids loved the pool.
Overall, would recommend if your thinking of visiting Whitby
The cottage was perfect for our stay as a family of four. It is beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we needed. The owners had even left us coffee, tea, milk etc which made such a difference. The TV had no signal but that didn't impact our stay as we spent all our time enjoying our surroundings. Town is about 5 minutes drive, if that. Plenty of storageand plug sockets too. Will be returning 🙂
This was the perfect place for our Bank Holiday escape to Whitby. The cottage is compact and cute which was perfect for our needs. The welcome pack that was left was such a nice touch (loaf of bread, lurpak, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and cake!).
We walked into Whitby along the cinder track every day which took us about 30 mins at a leisurely pace. After a full day in Whitby it was lovely to head back to the cottage and just relax. We even got a curry delivered on one of the evenings which was lovely (menu already in cottage). We used the swimming on one day but it was a little too cold for our liking so we didn't go back in.
All in all, this was a lovely cottage and we would highly recommend it and would be happy to return.
Lovely home but bathroom very small especially managing our disabled 4 year old who can’t walk making the space even tighter. A door blind was missing to the balcony door so the sun glared through the trees at times and prevented total privacy. When booked it stated house towels were provided but none were present so a good job we took extra. The owner provided safety gate on request but we couldn’t use it there was nowhere safe to fix it without it being a trip hazard to the kids or us pensioners, as the stairs turned a corner at the bottom. A welcome pack was provided which we appreciated but unfortunately the cake was more than a month out of date!! The house was in a lovely location and the swimming pool was lovely and well worth the extra cost. House was nice but not suitable for a disabled child on reflection. We always leave properties as we find them but we were asked to leave it as clean as when we entered it on arrival and cleaning agents were provided But I think we should have been paid for the cleaning!! We booked a holiday not a cleaning contract. We have stayed in other properties here in the past. WiFi is a must for our little girl but it was very intermittent at times. We expected to have decent WiFi as it didn’t say it would break up so often until I asked the owner. As I say nice enough house but not for us.
Excellent property. Very well appointed and very comfortable. Only a few minutes drive from a supermarket and a pub/restaurant, but you would never know it, as the location of the property makes it feel like you are right in the middle of the countryside. Lovely benefit of the pool as well,
From the moment we arrived, we were impressed. Gorgeous setting, stunning accommodation and an easy, friendly check in.
Our parking space was right outside the door so it was effortless moving in for the weekend.
The place is stylishly furnished and exceptionally clean. The welcome pack is incredibly thoughtful.
We had no issues whatsoever with the place. Clean, comfy and homely. Loved the little extras such as dvds and toys and games for children. Not that we used them as we were there just as an adult couple, but so very thoughtful to keep youngsters entertained.
It's a lovely walk into the centre of Whitby too.
There is no doubt that we will return. Thank you so much .
My family spent 3 wonderful days in Whitby. The cottage is beautiful, very clean, nice location, well equipped. Kids enjoyed the local pool. Could not have been better!
A great location, a lovely cottage, was very comfy and content when in the cottage. Cosy cottage.
Slept really well, beds very comfy.
We had a welcome pack - bread, pack of teabags, coffee, butter & milk. A Victoria sponge cake - we wasnt expecting, we were very happy and grateful for.
If looking to go somewhere for breakfast, we would recommend the Singing Kettle cafe( side of the angel hotel - jd wetherspoon) this opens 4am - 12pm.
Highly recommend staying here.
We will defenetly be staying at this cottage again hopfully spring/summer time. loved our stay, we have no complaints.
