Perfect base for exploring the south Yorkshire Dales

The property was cozy, well appointed and had all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. Good quality towels, bedding, and a very comfy bed. Nice touch was the welcome package with a few items, which included bread, milk and a bottle of wine. Owner was very helpful and communicated when required. Would definitely stay again.

Clean & Well Maintained

Check-in was contact-free & Covid19 friendly. The property was lovely and clean. The furniture and fittings were all in excellent condition. The property was warm and comfortable. We liked the hanging plants in the kitchen/dining room and have now hung some at our home too (cheers for the inspiration!). The owner was pleasant and always responded quickly to the few messages I sent - we didn't speak in person but the need to call never arose. We had a 3 & 6 year old in the property - it was safe and there was room enough for them to play. We used the property as a base for visiting York, Knaresborough, & Middleham, we also walked around Embsay Reservoir (in the rain!). The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for clothes and what not. The dressing table was useful - nice lampshades in the main bedroom as well (we might be on the lookout for them for our home, too). The kitchen was well equipped and contained everything we needed for our evening meals; we could perhaps have done with a bit more storage space (there was 4 of us) for groceries but it wasn't a problem as there's a big work surface so we just kept some things out on there. We ran out of bin bags, but again, no big deal, we'd acquired a couple of paper bags on our day trips anyway so we used those. We didn't use the garden, it wasn't the weather for alfresco dining, but I'd imagine it would be nice enough eating outside there in the summer, there were nice plants around the borders and everything was tidy. The bathroom was clean, handsoap was provided by the sink and there's a big towel rack for drying. The towels were thick & soft and in good condition. Chaps might want to take a shaving mirror otherwise you need to lean from the sink over the toilet to see into the mirror on the wall - not a major hassle but a little awkward. Outside, the steps from the car/garage were pretty hairy in the rain but can be avoided if necessary by following the pavement around the perimeter instead. I can't say much about the local facilities as we didn't use them - we did our grocery shop in the Aldi at Harrogate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we're in this part of Yorkshire again we would definitely consider staying here. The Corner House was impressive from the outset; it's a smashing property and to our mind, a risk-free booking. Thanks for a great little holiday.

Lovely getaway close to the Dales

Hannah's property was lovely, and extremely well equipped. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the outside areas around the house were lovely. The location is also great -- we didn't even have to use our car for 2 days, as there were lovely walks available right out the door. Would highly recommend it to others!
