Very prompt & friendly contact with Pauline the manager. Beautiful arranged garden not far from the promenade and high street (5mins & beach 15mins walk). Comfortable and well presented flat which suited the needs of 2 young children & my elderly mother very well. Would definitely recommend

Home from Home

Wonderful host and beautiful accommodation. Pauline is lovely, very professional and knows her customers. I travel a lot and have stayed in many self catering places overseas and the standard here is better than anywhere else I've been. Lovely little touches and attention to detail re whats needed. Beautiful garden in our ground floor flat too and i thought the place was better than the photos on the site. Hope to return again in the future.

The bad, the not so good and the great

Thankfully most of our eating was done outside the property. I was disappointed that there was no fry pan in which to make scrambled eggs in the morning because of a fire code hazard. The ceiling heights felt a bit low especially for my husband at 6’1”. However, the electric heater in front of the fireplace really helped to take the chill off the air and having the lovely garden area was a delight.

Lovely break in a great property

Loved the garden that the apartment opened out onto. However, it isn’t secure so if you are taking your dog might need to bear that in mind. Everything you need is provided for. Pauline is a lovely host and on hand to help with any questions living across the road. Access to the lake and beach is within 10/15 minutes walk, which was great to walk the dog.

Barford House

We stayed in this apartment for a long weekend and had a great time. The place was beautifully clean and well decorated, plenty of space and well equipped, and we had a private garden which we used a lot, and it was handy for Lord Street, the beach and lots of seaside activities. I would recommend this property fully.

I purchased the property in 2008 with my Husband.
I run the business on my own and enjoy meeting and getting to know all our guests.
My passion is gardening not only do I keep the gardens at Barford looking colourful I run a volunteer garden group on Lord Street. Our group look after the flower beds and urns. I am a great believer of giving something back to the community.
Last year we became a Grandparents for the first time, we have two beautiful Grandsons.

Barford House has alot of return guests, that to me speaks volumes.
I will do whatever I can to help my guests, whether that is picking up or dropping off at the train station on arrival or departure day. Booking a taxi pickup for guests flying in from abroad. Making sure an elderly guest has all the equipment they need if they are not good on their feet.

Barford House Apt's are a real home from home. We are situated in a residential area close to the beach and the Marine Lake. You can stay with us whether your on a business trip or holiday, on your own or with friends. Southport has something for every age group and proudly boasts a massive number of independent restaurants, tearooms, bars, pubs and places to eat. You really are spoilt for choice.

What makes this property unique

Barford House was built in the 1800's and it's full of original features and character. Our guests love the high ceilings with beautiful cornice's, lovely ceiling roses and original fireplaces. The stained glass sash window on the landing is original and I love it.
