It was a great stay at the hilltop hideaway, after being outdoors all day, we enjoyed coming back to the quiet, beautiful, comfort of the hideaway. It had everything we needed…we enjoyed our time there.
Beautiful and comfortable home. Perfect for a fall color tour around the Leelanau peninsula. Close to downtown Traverse City. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and it was a quiet area. Would definitely stay here again.
This property was great! Super easy to find with awesome directions given by the host.
It had everything we needed and then some. My kids loved the fact that they had a good selection of board games to play as well, that was a perk!
I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a convenient stay just outside of downtown traverse city!
The place was great for us. Roomy, clean, quiet. It's close to TC and all it offers, but out in the country. Just realize that this is an 2nd story apartment, and you need to climb a flight of stairs to get in.
My husband and I stayed along with 2 friends that we went to school with.
Our host John was very friendly and the accommodations along with the amenities were perfect. Check in and check out was extremely easy.

Great property. Higher end finishes, comfortable beds, I.d give 6 stars if I could. Quiet, country feel to unit but less than 10 mintes to downtown. 2nd floor walk up stairs.
We came a long way from home to stay at home! Hilltop Hide-A-Way was perfect in every way. Gorgeous views, super comfy beds, all the amenities we needed and proximity to all the wonderful sites of Traverse City were superb. John checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed.
Private and cozy! We had the BEST stay! Thank you John! We will definitely return!
Stayed for 1 night for a quick getaway with my mom and 9-year-old daughter. Perfect location. Stocked with anything you would need. Super comfortble beds. Super cozy. Super clean. Quiet!! My daughter loved playing the stocked board games on the deck. Would definitely stay again!
Quiet and peaceful. Very centrally located - easy access to downtown Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Great communication from property owner. Experienced one minor issue and it was very quickly resolved by the property owner. 10 out of 10 - will definitely stay again when we’re in the area!

Absolutely fantastic stay at John’s property! From the start, John was a great communicator, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free. The home itself is incredibly cozy and impeccably clean, providing a perfect retreat. The location is ideal, just a short drive to downtown Traverse City. This place is a must-stay for anyone visiting the area! Highly recommend.
The house is a perfect place to stay. It's just a few minutes from town very peaceful. Our grandchildren were happy to see all the games they got to play. It was very clean, the beds very comfortable. We love that it was an open concept as well.
This is a nicely appointed loft garage accommodations just outside of Traverse City. They provided everything we needed for a comfortable 4 night stay. Thanks John for your great communication!
Great location with easy (approx 5 min) drive to downtown Traverse City. Great base for a family looking to explore areas around Traverse and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Owner is very responsive and helpful.
This place was great! It had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the deck was great for chilling out and the kitchen had everything, including everyday spices. The location was perfect! A few minutes away from a grocery store and only another few minutes away from downtown. Even though it’s above the homeowners garage it felt private. The entrance was on the opposite side of the house and host was super responsive to our questions. I would definitely stay again!
Another mom and I stayed with our girls for a softball tournament over the weekend. Great location, it was especially nice not being in a loud hotel. 10-20 minutes from the ball parks we played at and close enough to town we could spend some time there before afternoon games. Owner checked in via text to confirm all was good, friendly interactions and answered all questions.
Growing up in a beachfront town, he loves to swim and spend time playing beach volleyball.
As a high school junior he jumped at the opportunity to work on the beach for a local jet ski rental eventually working his way into a management role. His passion for boating grew through his college years as he became an avid wakeboarder. John then spent several years working with families and children as a local math teacher.
This background lends itself well to the customer service, now he can frequently be seen as the morning sun rises, with a smile on his face and his toes in the sand!
Why they chose this property
This spacious 2.5 acre property has long captivated my attention. Nestled just outside of downtown it makes the perfect place to live while being minutes from everything.
What makes this property unique
Whatever season suits you there is something for everyone for almost every outdoor sport for every season. This bungalow will allow you to be close to the downtown action but not constantly fighting traffic and crowds.
