The kitchen has an oven, stove, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, coffee/tea maker and cooking basics. There is also a washing machine, a drying rack, an iron, a hair dryer, a TV, Wi-Fi and heating, with bed linen and towels provided. Outside, the garden has outdoor furniture.

You have the whole of Villa Mariou to yourselves, reached through its own private entrance. Both floors, the large upstairs terrace with its outdoor dining area, the garden with outdoor furniture and the private pool are for your group only. Free street parking is available near the villa.

We welcome you in person at the villa and hand over the keys, so please let us know your arrival time in advance. Before and throughout your stay we are available by message for any questions, and we are happy to share recommendations for beaches, tavernas and day trips in the area. If anything at the villa needs attention, just let us know and we will arrange help as quickly as we can.

Mariou is a small, quiet, traditional village on the hills of Crete`s unspoilt south coast, surrounded by olive groves and open countryside. The village has a family-run taverna and a small grocery shop within walking distance of the villa, and Plakias, a five-minute drive away, has tavernas, supermarkets, bars, pharmacies, a doctor and a large beach. Nearest beach approx. 5.1 km, supermarket approx. 4.0 km, pharmacy approx. 4.8 km.

From Damnoni beach you can take the boat to Preveli beach with its river and palm forest. The area is good for countryside hikes and day trips to Rodakino, Frangokastello with its castle and shallow beach, and Chora Sfakion, where boats leave for the seaside village of Loutro. Rethymno, with its shops, restaurants and bars, is about 40 minutes away by car.

A car is the easiest way to explore the area: Plakias is a five-minute drive, the beaches are 5-10 minutes away, and Rethymno is about 40 minutes by car. Free street parking is available near the villa.

Approximate road distances: Chania airport approx. 93 km, Heraklion airport approx. 111 km, Chania port approx. 79 km and Heraklion port approx. 108 km. Local boats run from Damnoni beach to Preveli beach and from Chora Sfakion to Loutro.

Villa Mariou is on two levels: the bedrooms, bathrooms and pool are on the ground floor, with the living room, kitchen, toilet and terrace on the upper floor.
Check-in is from 16:00 to 23:00 and check-out is by 10:00. Keys are handed over in person at the villa.
Quiet hours are 14:00-18:00 and 23:00-08:00, out of respect for the neighbours.
Children must be supervised at the pool at all times, and no glass is allowed by the pool.
Maximum 8 guests. Unregistered guests and visitors are not permitted. No parties or events, and pets are not allowed. Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
A valid ID or passport is required for every guest at check-in, as required by Greek law.
