Lovely and quiet getaway
We loved our time at Mineshop - the children enjoyed visiting the chickens, sheep, and Muttly every day. The cottage was clean and had everything we could wish for. Thanks much to everyone who made our stay so welcoming.

Nice, cosy quiet and very friendly landlords
A very nice place to stay! Wonderful friendly and helpful landlady and landlords. Great surroundings, remote and close to the sea. Very clean cottage. Cream tea as a welcome, thank you again. And thank you as well that we could arrive at any time as our ferry was suspended. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a wonderful quiet place in a remote valley with great walks as well for the dogs as for people of all ages. Would like to come again.

Spotless, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful quiet location. A welcome cream tea on our arrival was delicious. Perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. Would definitely recommend a stay there.

A Truly Relaxing Break, Surrounded by Nature and Beauty
We received a lovely, warm welcome when arriving at Mineshop and even though we were early, our cottage was quickly made ready for us. Fresh scones, jam and cream had been lovingly prepared for us, it was a lovely touch and especially delicious, a really lovely start to the holiday. The cottage was clean and tidy, there was plenty of hot water and the kitchen well equipped. There is no mobile signal in the area but most of the cottages are advertised as having WiFi .... I think we managed to get one bar of wifi signal but this was very haphazard and most of the time, there wasn't any. This didn't really bother us as it felt like a proper break away from normal life. The gentle woodland walk into Crackington Haven is gorgeous and our 2 whippets loved the field by the cottages where they could run free and chase their ball. It was a bit frustrating that Crackington Haven beach is not dog friendly until October and in hindsight, we would have booked to come then instead. Overall, Mineshop is a fantastic place to stay with your furry friends, especially if you are looking for utter peace and quiet. We definitely want to return and fingers crossed, we'll be back next year.

Excellent cottage and quiet site
The cottage was clean, tidy and had everything we needed during our stay, the cream tea on arrival was a bonus. For the three of us the cottage was perfectly adequate. We had two dogs which loved the walks in the fields and down to the beach. So nice to be able to walk the dogs so near to the cottage. The car park was only a short walk away and of a reasonable size. Crackington Haven beach was about a 30 minute walk away for us (fitter types might do it in 20 minutes) and although mainly flat some parts might be tricky for pushchairs. Unfortunately for us, dogs were not allowed on the beach between May and October, we had to go to Widemouth Beach to find a section of beach where dogs could go. The only negative side during our stay was the very variable wifi signal on site and virtually no Vodaphone mobile phone signal (although our son on EE seemed OK). The owners did make us aware of the poor wifi signal before we completed our booking and it is clearly stated on their website... so we had been warned !. We found that the Cabin Cafe (fab little cafe) at Crackington Haven beach had a good free wifi connection. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return again. Mike, Debbie and Joe
