About this property
Cosy Chalet With Sea Views, By The Beach
A delightful, individual wooden chalet nestled into the side of the cliff with amazing views over the beach at Crackington Haven. Sheltered, private garden and patio with sea-views. On the coast path,a few meters from the lovely beach and close to a couple of great cafes and an excellent pub overlooking the sea. The local bus service stops by the beach. Very comfortable accommodation with oak floors and leather sofas and open plan living to take advantage of the superb views. Ample heating. A great place to stay at any time of year. 7 nights minimum in high season, short stays in high season only considered last minute. Electricity is metered and you pay for what you use, this is fairer for you than building it into rental cost. Regretfully we cannot accept dogs. There is off road private parking at road level and please note that access is then on foot via 20 meters on the coast path which is unsuitable for guests with limited mobility due to uneven steps.

We had an amazing stay! The accommodation was superb and suited us down to the ground! Being able to pop down for a swim, grab a coffee at the local cafes and then a beer at the pub was perfect. The garden and patio is great, with stunning views and masses of wildlife. A very relaxing holiday!

So pleased that you enjoyed the perfection that Pen Cliff offers! Hoping to see you again another time.
Great little chalet, great views. All the amenities and a friendly robin frequently visiting. Windy and rainy throughout our stay but we still had a wonderful break, could really have done with another week there. Ah well.
Penn Cliff is a perfect cosy get away. A two minute walk to a quiet beach and stunning sea views from the lounge.
Everything you need to enjoy this beautiful location is there. The hosts were quick to respond and couldn’t have been more helpful

Pen Cliff, Crackington Haven
Lovely accommodation on a really nice part of the Cornish coast.
Our weather (in April) ranged from English summer heat to a 50mph gale, and both the property and the area were good for both.
Comfortable, clean, well equipped, just a few minutes from a really nice pub and bang on the South West Coast Path.
What’s not to like?

Thank you for your review and we are so pleased that you found that Pen Cliff is a wonderful spot to stay in all weathers to watch the sea. We hope to welcome you again soon to enjoy some more coast path walks great pub meals.
We spent a lovely 2 weeks in late September here. It’s a short walk to the beach, coastal walks, two cafes and a good pub (where we ate twice). Bude has supermarkets about 20 minutes away and the local scenery is stunning. Pen Cliff is comfortable and cosy with a good TV and Wi-Fi too. Parking is across the road so it was not possible to charge our hybrid car, but this was not a problem particularly, just something to note as electric vehicles become more common perhaps. Owners were helpful and communication was easy. All in all, a lovely stay and at a reasonable price for Cornwall.

Beautiful view...could use some sprucing up.
Pros: The little outside area with the chairs, and table is adorable, and the view is absolutely stunning. The living room and kitchen were nice and had everything we could possibly need.
Cons: The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was fine, but didn't come with TOWELS, you had to rent them, of course for an additional cost! Which I think is just about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. We didn't rent any, we BOTH just used the crispy hand towel that was left there. Not a pleasant experience.

We are so pleased you enjoyed the wonderful views and found everything well-equipped. The king size bed is new this year and has a lovely top-quality mattress and we are sorry that a firm mattress was not to your personal liking. I regret that you did not contact us about the towels which we would have happily provided at no cost and we will be supplying air-dried towels in future which are environmentally preferable.
Das kleine Häuschen bietet alles, was man für eine Ferienwoche braucht. Wunderbar der Blick und der direkte Zugang zum Strand sowie zum Küstenwanderweg :)
We spent a week at Pen Cliff in mid June and had a fantastic time. The property is beautifully located with tremendous views, very private, not overlooked and is very well equipped. Difficult to see how the experience could be improved on, would definitely stay again.
A special hideaway, super cozy, away from the crowds, great views, walks, beach and pub. Close to fabulous Widemouth Bay and Bude. We had an excellent time. Recommended.
We had a lovely short break in February when the weather was actually somewhat stormy but as the cottage looks out to the sea that was fine. Got lucky with breaks in the weather that allowed us to venture out on daily walks. The kitchen is well outfitted and we prepared several meals there which helped to keep the costs down. Would highly recommend for a family of four.
Great place to stay right on the coast, ideal for the coastal walk.

Detox by the sea
Where to begin: there were no negatives one could cite about the stay mum and I enjoyed at Pen Cliff. For a Mothering Sunday treat, the weather was pleasant and having the chalet as a retreat was a bonus. Admittedly, aside from exploring the nearby eateries and the seascapes with my trusty Nikon, much of our time was spent sipping Lavazza coffee whilst looking out towards the patio and the many robins who'd visit the garden.
The bottom line is the chalet had the effect of making us not want to leave. It's invitingly seductive in its simplicity: a well equipped kitchen that's a pleasure to cook in; SUPER comfy beds (including the bunk bed where I ventured to slumberland from); a wet room where I languished till I was crinkly because of it's utterly heavenly first thing. And last but not least, the owners - very accommodating and welcoming. Rachel popped by on our departure day and was chatty and friendly. Our one regret was not staying longer, but we'll be revisiting again later this year.
A sublimely delightful gem with everything you could wish for in a getaway.
