Duckpool Lodge - Stunning Views, Close to Sandy Beaches

Our spacious and contemporary log cabins have been a true labour of love. Designed by us specifically to suit families, couples and groups of friends, our three log cabins have a modern Scandinavian feel with open plan living areas incorporating a comfortable seating area, dining table and well-equipped kitchen.

The toasty log burner ensures a warm and welcoming atmosphere as you walk in the door and the generous bedrooms have super-comfy beds to help you get a fantastic night sleep after a long day exploring the nearby beaches and coastline. Professionally laundered bedding provides that extra touch of luxury and WiFi is free of charge and reliable through the property so you won't miss anything while you're away!

A short 5 minute drive will take you to the sandy beaches of the North Cornwall coastline, however there's no need to go anywhere to experience beautiful views of the stunning Cornish countryside. The log cabin is situated in a gated courtyard with outdoor seating, BBQs and fabulous views to enjoy. A small area of field is also available for outdoor games so you won't be lost for things to do if you fancy spending a day close to home!

If you like to eat in, the kitchen is fully equipped with oven, electric hob and dishwasher so there's no need to argue over who's doing the washing up! For those treat nights where you want to eat out, there is an abundance of local restaurants including great pub food, Chinese, Indian, Italian and many seafood eateries taking advantage of our proximity to the Atlantic ocean. Local takeaways include fish and chips, pizza and Chinese. Local supermarkets within 5 minutes include Co-Op and Spar, with Morrisons and Lidl just 10 minutes away.

Local beaches, surfing, golf course, tennis, mini golf, horse-riding and fishing will help you to create lots of memories to take home with you and there is a fantastic choice of activities for kids such as soft play for the younger ones and even a nearby theme park for the kids to look forward to! Tamar Lakes is approximately 1 mile away and offers water sports and enjoyable walks. For a more laid back holiday, meandering along the South West coast path or visiting beautiful country houses and National Trust sites at any time of the year will provide a truly relaxing break.

When you're ready to put your feet up, our generous sofas will help you wind down and either take advantage of the TV and DVD player or play a good old fashioned board game!

Parking is free on site, just let us know if you plan to bring more than one car.

A wonderful cottage with the sweetest hosts. We picked the Duckpool lodge after reading several reviews on overall cleanliness and they were right. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed for a lovely weekend away. We enjoyed the quiet seclusion of the area but the convenience of many beaches and attractions not far away. I highly recommend visiting Tintagel and/or Boscatle for an active day out. Well worth the drive.

Clean, friendly and great location

Cabin was spotless, the host was very friendly and polite, location was great for exploration of North Cornwall and surrounding area, very easy to find with WHAT3WORDS address. Only downside was basic in term is entertainment at the cabin, ie, no board-games, Wi-Fi and tv signal was patchy at times. We had no issues with this but, something to hate in mind if small children within your party.

We had the best time!

Eddington Lodge was a perfect choice for my husband and I and our 16 month old daughter. The hosts are really helpful and can offer great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. The property has everything you need for a short stay and it’s very clean and comfortable. Our daughter especially loved the animals which are directly behind the lodges. We explored the local beaches which are beautiful. There is a lot to do in surrounding areas for young families which is brilliant. Highly recommend Eddington Lodge and would love to return. Thank you guys!

Great place to stay and explore the local area

We had a great week at eddington lodges - very warm welcome by the host. Although we were next door to their house we felt we had our privacy and also could call on them if needed. There is lots to do and see in the area - one week is not enough time!! The lodge is perfectly comfortable, the beds were amazing and very comfortable, the kitchen had everything you would need. It would be handy to have an iron and an ironing board but it's no great problem! We would definitely stay here again..... thank you for an amazing holiday! Very happy parents and children (2.5 and 5 year old)

The Perfect Location.

We took a short break to Cornwall recently and were very fortunate to find Hannah's cabins. We were welcomed on arrival and a full Cornish cream tea was ready and waiting for us in our cabin, very nice touch and very welcome after a long drive. The area is so peaceful and just what we wanted and also a perfect location for exploring the Cornish coast. The telescopes where impressive too, but just our luck that all four nights were cloudy ! Anyway, it will be a good reason for another trip. Highly recommended. Clive & Wendy

Both Jonathan and myself left high-pressured, busy jobs and decided to move 250 miles south to Cornwall to purchase our dream home in 2012. Much to our surprise, our dream home turned out to be a rather ramshackle farmhouse with some old, dilapidated barns in the courtyard!

We fell in love with Duckpool Lodge as we were creating it, along with our two other lodges, on paper and watching our dream become a reality through a huge amount of hard work has been a great privilege. We have been fortunate to create bespoke holiday log cabins, decorated in a contemporary Scandinavian style with every detail planned around modern family living.

Why they chose this property

Beautiful Bude is particularly unique as it is both easily accessible from the rest of the UK and enjoys a relaxed, bustling atmosphere. The beaches are sandy and the coastline provides endless entertainment, whether it's surfing or sandcastles that take your fancy. A canal meanders it's way into the town and provides a haven for wildlife including many birds. Our location boasts stunning views across wide open countryside, a peaceful courtyard setting for our three log cabins and Tamar Lakes right on our doorstep, offering lovely walks and entertainment!

Pop on your thermals and step outside on a clear night and we will take you over to our observation pods with fantastic telescopes in them!
