About this property
"The Cabin" on the shore of Loon Lake! Create Memories!
Dreaming of a summer cabin on a lake? Look no further.
Welcome to "The Cabin" on Loon Lake.
Let this private cabin/ lake home, 35 feet from the water create years of memories.
Wake to the call of the Loons! Experience total relaxation at this freshly updated lake home called "The Cabin".
Nestled in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes area of Central Minnesota, Loon Lake is located between the towns of Nisswa and Pequot Lakes 3 miles west of Highway 371.
The large trees and woods greet you as you enter the curving circular driveway.
The natural path takes you to the main entrance. As you enter "The Cabin" you will be charmed by the large windows that look out to the lake and woods. The living room spans the width of the cabin with large windows. There is a large flat screen TV and DVD player, Roku for streaming, Netflix, Hulu and internet are provided. The cabin also has a collection of DVD movies plus many board games, puzzles and classic books for the rain days.
The original dining room with a vaulted knotty pine ceiling looks out to the deck and allows for peaceful views of Loon Lake.
The new, fully equipped kitchen has everything you will need for dining in; there is a new gas grill on the deck too.
If you don't feel like cooking, there are a number of excellent local restaurants from which to choose.
Completing the main level you will find the main floor bedroom with a Queen size bed, 3/4 bath, and full laundry.
The upper level is composed of a sitting / office area, one private bedroom with a Queen bed and a deck overlooking the woods.
The second bedroom, has double on the bottom and twin on top bunk bed. It is a great place to fall asleep listening to the call of the loons. There is a 3/4 bath upstairs, plus the secret room that is revealed when sliding the barn door!
On the grounds of the property is a lakeside fire pit for evening camp fires. The side yard is a great place to sip morning coffee while watching the Bald Eagles and Loons fish for their breakfast. Or enjoy yard games in the afternoon.
Out the front door are meandering steps that lead to the lake and a dock where you will find great water for all of your recreational needs. There is plenty of room to dock your own boat and toys. There is a 14" row boat for you to use, along with 2 single person kayaks. Loon Lake has a public access for easy launching of your own boat or one that you might rent.
"The Cabin" is conveniently located 3 miles from the Paul Bunyan Trail. This paved state trail is great for biking, walking, running, roller blading, snowmobiling, X-country skiing, and viewing wildlife.
If you are planning a drinking party, please find another place to stay.
This is a quiet cabin for the well behaved.
New in 2025 an updated deep well and new water filtration system have been added to provide the clearest quality water possible.
"The Cabin" on Loon Lake is the place to spend your next get away.

About the host

Spending every summer at the cabin is a Minnesota tradition. As a child I spent summers at "the Cabin" learning to water ski, sail, canoe, learn about the wildlife in northern MN. Along with spending quality time with family and friends.
I have been lucky enough to share these Minnesota experiences with my children and grandchildren too. Now I'd like everyone to have the opportunity to spend the summer "Up North" at "the Cabin"!

Why they chose this property
The cabin has been in my family since 1970!
The original cabin is the section closest to the lake,
a lop sided A frame. The 2 story addition was added in the early 90's. This past winter was spent giving the cabin a new fresh makeover for all to enjoy. My hope is to share "the Cabin" with others who love nature and would like to create memories with their family and friends.

What makes this property unique
There is nothing like sitting on the dock and seeing the loons swim buy, "The Cabin" is a very special place.
