About this property

Courtyard Cottage in Scottish Highlands - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

These spacious stone-built courtyard cottages each with wi-fi form part of the impressive Victorian farm steading with its magnificent Clock Tower. Some of the converted self-catering cottages offer panoramic views over rolling farmland, woodland and on towards Glen Affric and most offer en-suite power showers, providing everything you need for the perfect highland holiday. Guests can enjoy the shared, seasonal indoor swimming pool open from April to October, games room and toddler play area.
The Courtyard Cottages are 2 bedroom stone and slate, most have an entrance hall leading into the open plan living area, whilst others share an exterior entrance. The open plan living and dining area is flooded with natural light from the floor to ceiling windows. The comfortable living space is also equipped with Freeview TV, DVD player and a stove. The traditional oak fitted kitchens provide space to socialise whilst you cook and are fully equipped to include electric built-in oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, fridge and freezer, with laminate flooring. You can even pick your own herbs from the garden.

Upstairs you will find one ample double bedroom most with en-suite power shower, one twin bedroom (carpeted throughout) and a spacious bathroom with bath, most with individual shower, WC and hand basin with shaver point. Both bedrooms have wardrobes, dressing tables, a chest of drawers, side tables and mirrors. Duvets, bed linen and complimentary towels are provided. There is ample storage space for clothes. Cot, high chair, stairgate, additional towels and z-bed can be supplied subject to availability.

Ample car parking is provided conveniently outside each of the cottages. A shared patio area is ideal for a BBQ with picnic tables for you to sit and enjoy the stunning surroundings. Just a few steps away is the shared seasonal pool, games room with table tennis, pool, table football and wi-fi hotspot. The large lawn is ideal for outdoor activities and has football goals, a play area and low level assault course allowing children the chance to burn-off energy and let-off steam. Other facilities include lockable bike store, communal dryer and tourist information point.

Recharge your batteries
We've been to the Tomich Holidays courtyard cottages many times. The accommodation is always clean and comfortable but the main reason for our visit has always been the wonderful surroundings, situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, away from the noise and traffic of daily life. The accommodation has all the amenities you need. Pets welcome as well. We will be returning again.

Many positives, a few negatives
We enjoyed our week in Tomich as always, despite the weather! The cottage is comfortable and furnishings are of excellent quality. The showers are amazing. However, we were disappointed to discover that the swimming pool was closed till Spring - it has always been an important feature for the family. The TV and DVD installations caused us issues - eventually solving the problems by buying new batteries and then pressing a button at the back of the TV. The kitchen has quality pots, pans and oven dishes. But again, some utensils were lacking. Washing up liquid only enough for one bowl and no washing up brush/scrubber. We resolved all these but perhaps checking once in a while would avoid these issues.

10/10 Excellent

Beautiful cottage
It was a really nice stay and property. The house and location was excellent, close to top touristy spots and the more local. You do need to be able to drive, but for those who can its perfect. Only flaw (gripping at straws) were the pilows and mattress, we ended up buying new pillows (needed them anyway for home) and the springs sounded to be on the way out.. also the power went out at bang on check out time of 9.30 (no grace preiod of 10-15 mins or so), we felt a bit rejected due to this especially since we spent the time cleaning up behind us to leave less cleaning, but, i can see why they might need to do this, it really is a beautiful spot. We hope to return some day and explore more when our little one gets a bit bigger Xx
