About this property
Scottish Highlands - Tranquil & Cosy Rural Cottage, surrounded by wildlife
Relax in this comfortable, very clean, cosy and warm, cottage, perfect for a short holiday for two.
This self-contained apartment is in the countryside in a highland glen. The cottage is exclusively yours, with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room and a porch with seating outside and views to the hill where deer and sheep graze.
Amenities:
The kitchen is well equipped; high quality towels and linens are provided; Arran soaps and shampoos; hairdryer; books, DVDs and board games for cosy nights in front of the log-burning stove.
The cottage is cleaned to a high standard including all crockery and cutlery put through a hot dishwasher before your stay, and linens professionally cleaned.
Location:
This is a great location for days out: Loch Ness is only a 20 minute drive and Inverness 1/2 hour. Ullapool is only 1 1/4 hour drive. Glenfinnan viaduct is 2 hours away. The Isle of Skye is 2 hours away. Cromarty is a half hour drive. We are close to the NC500 route.
Quiet, secluded and peaceful yet perfect as a base for exploring the Highlands of Scotland.
Access:
This annexe to our crofthouse has its own entrance door and a porch to store bikes and outdoor gear, or sit with a drink and good book. The cottage is all on one ground-floor level, with one step into the entrance porch.
The accommodation comprises a living room with a wood burning stove and a small kitchen, a bedroom with double bed, hall and shower room. Underfloor heating throughout. The apartment is exclusively yours.
This is a great base for hillwalking, cycling, photography, painting, bird watching, fishing, golfing, star gazing, the whisky trail or tracing your family or clan history. Outlander fans have lots to experience in this Clan Fraser area. Only a few miles from the scenic North coast 500 route. Just 20 minutes drive to Loch Ness, where you can take boat cruises to find Nessie! Beautiful scenery on the road from here to Skye and the west coast, or down to the Cairngorms, or across to picturesque villages on the Black Isle.
Things to note - the location is rural, along a single track road and a short farm track - the nearest shops and restaurants are 15 minutes drive. This rural location means there is no traffic noise or streetlights, the sky is dark and starry, and there's lots of wildlife including deer, badgers, foxes, buzzards, red kites, red squirrels and pine marten.
Perfect if you are looking for rest and recuperation.
We look forward to meeting you!

About the host
Hosted by Siobhan

Hi! I grew up near here and after a spell working away, came back to the area and started up a croft (a small farm). My husband and I have some beef cows and some sheep and areas we look after for biodiversity.
We love meeting people and sharing this beautiful part of Scotland.

Why they chose this property
Where we live is so quiet and buzzing with wildlife. There are always deer about (sometimes annoying as they eat the garden plants!), lots of birds, trees and wildflowers.
What makes this property unique
peace and quiet, dark skies, lovely view from the porch, wildlife
