The Intelvi Valley, located between the Como mountains, joins Lake Como with that of Lugano, along a territory that extends between the towns of Argegno and Lanzo, near Switzerland. It is made up of 15 municipalities: Argegno, Blessagno, Casasco d'Intelvi, Castiglione d'Intelvi, Cerano d'Intelvi, Claino con Osteno, Dizzasco, Laino, Lanzo d'Intelvi, Pellio Intelvi, Pigra, Ponna, Ramponio Verna, San Fedele Intelvi and Schignano. In 2017 the municipality of Alta Valle Intelvi was established from the merger of Lanzo, Pellio and Ramponio Verna; the following year Centro Valle Intelvi will be born, which includes Casasco, Castiglione and San Fedele.
From 1 January 2018 the largest municipality of Centro Valle Intelvi was created, of which it belongs together with Castiglione and San Fedele Intelvi.
