About this property
Modern Portuguese One Bedroom flat in Belém
Summary:
Welcome to this comforting one bedroom apartment with a lovely living room, in the vibrant area of Belém.
The Space:
This home is a comfortable place to call your home away from home.
A real highlight of the home is the beautiful pastel-coloured design, giving the house a warm, welcoming feel and creating a unique sense of personality in the home.
The living area combines stylish interior decor with lovely finishing touches to create a relaxing place to stay. Take the weight off your feet, chill out on the sofa and make yourself at home! The sofa converts into a double sofa bed to accommodate extra guests. In the kitchen, you’ll find all the modern appliances you need to cook a delicious meal that you can serve to friends or family sitting around the dining table.
The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed with fresh linens. There’s also ample storage and wardrobe space so you can fully unpack and settle in. Black-out blinds keep the room dark so you can get a good night’s rest and wake up refreshed.
You can freshen up in the well-appointed bathroom where you can enjoy an energising shower. Towels and toiletries are provided.
The property will be professionally cleaned before your stay.
Guest Access:
You will have access to the entire property and it is important that you are respectful towards your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10 PM.
You may occasionally hear noise from neighbouring apartments, as most buildings in Lisbon aren’t soundproofed!
The Neighborhood:
In the south-west corner of Lisbon is the beautiful and popular area of Belém; home to some of the most spectacular and iconic landmarks in Portugal. The 56m-high Monument to the Discoveries is a stunning and imposing landmark right on the banks of the Tejo that commemorates the endeavours of the Portuguese explorers in the 15th and 16th centuries. A little further down the shore is the Belém Tower, which is a naval defense tower dating back to 1514 and one of the most popular tourist spots in the city; we advise getting there early. Close by is the Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back to 1501 and used to be a religious sanctuary for sailors in the age of discoveries. Meanwhile, for art lovers, the Museu Coleção Berardo is home to works by some of the most famous modern masters, including Picasso, Dali, and Warhol.
To taste a perfect example of Portugal’s most famous culinary export, the pasteis de nata, you need to head to Pasteis de Belém; a beautiful traditional pastry shop with a reputation for the best custard tarts in the capital. For a good evening meal, try Enoteca De Belém with its extensive wine list, delicious menu and relaxed atmosphere. For a gourmet fine dining experience meanwhile, you can try to secure a reservation at Feitoria, a nuevo-chic restaurant with modern and postmodern decor as well as an award-winning menu. Finally, Nosolo Italia Belém is a delightful Italian restaurant with outdoor seating options right on the riverfront for a beautiful view across the Tejo. As for evening drinks, try Speakeasy for a 1930s American Jazz style bar with a good cocktail list, or enjoy a sophisticated cocktail at Bar 38º 41, named after the coordinates that sailors departed from in the age of discoveries.
Getting Around:
The Belém train station connection to Lisbon and Cascais is found a short 5 minute walk away from the house, and trains run every 20 minutes or so all day long. The Citymapper app is highly recommended for help getting around. Alternatively, city taxis and Uber and other such car sharing apps are easy to find.
Other Things to Note:
We kindly request that you read the house rules prior to booking and respect them during your stay. Parties or events of any kind will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in eviction from the property and charges for any damages or additional cleaning required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
City Tax may applicable for this property. This tax is not included in the booking price and will be collected directly from you Before arrival. The amount is calculated per person, per night, and could vary according to local regulations. We kindly ask you to prepare for this payment during check-in. Thank you for your understanding.
