Lake Waramaug Cottage

Cassie and Matt were terrific to have as guests -- tread VERY lightly in the cottage and left it in excellent shape. Unfortunately we had very little contact with them as they were up & out early and returned late -- hopefully they were enjoying the spectacular autumn season here this year while also visiting family in the area. Would welcome them back any time and highly recommend them to other guests.

We really enjoyed having Karen and Marty as our guests last week while they visited nearby family and we certainly look forward to having them stay with us in the future. They were really comfortable while here and enjoyed their stay immensely. Jon Garvey & Blake Levitt

We very much enjoyed getting to know Jackie and Larry too! Such fun. They were so easy to have next door -- quiet, neat, friendly, respectful in every way. Left the cottage in perfect condition. Felt more like friends than "guests." Sad to see them leave... Look forward to seeing them again for sure and highly recommend to other hosts. Can't go wrong with them.

Patti and Gary were terrific. Quite, respectful, left the house in perfect condition. Sincerely hope they do come back next summer so we can get to know them better. We would welcome good guests like them any time and highly recommend them to other hosts.

Tim was great to have with us! He is a third generation former neighbor, revisiting his old 'hood. We knew his parents but not Tim until now. Such a pleasure to meet him, hear his stories, and learn of history we never knew. Would recommend him to anyone renting properties on VRBO or any other site. He was great fun, quiet, respectful, tread extremely lightly -- could hardly tell after he left that anyone was even there. We would be delighted to have him back! In fact are already looking forward to it...

Jon and Elise were such a delight to have as guests. It was their 40th anniversary -- they'd honeymooned at a nearby gracious old inn back then, now turned into a private home but still standing and original. They left everything in perfect order and were wonderful guests -- everything a host could ask for: friendly, smart, quiet, thoughtful. The real deal. Loved seeing them enjoy the backyard and the gardens. We especially enjoyed getting to know them a little toward the end of their visit and certainly hope to see them again as guests and future friends. Guests like them make the sometimes hassles of hosting worth every minute of it.

And we would have them back in a heartbeat. Great guests!

Larry and Ann were terrific guests. It was a pleasure to see them relax so thoroughly and just enjoy the country with all it has to offer. We can easily recommend them to other hosts.

Christine and Rhein were a delight to have next door -- so thoughtful and curious about the area and adventurous. Had we all not been going off in different directions, we would have enjoyed getting to know them better. Smart too -- we learned from them as well about our own area! Terry and Cindy, and their son and daugher-in-law, were perfect guests. Quiet, neat, respectful, interesting, fun to talk with -- we loved seeing them enjoy the yard and cottage, as well as the town beach and area. The weather cooperated almost the entire time for them too! They left the house is great shape -- just normal cleanup. We very much look forward to seeing them and the family again anytime and recommend them highly to other hosts.

Kim and Michael were terrific -- excellent 'neighbors' the entire time, like having kindred spirits next door. They also left the house in such great shape that if the beds hadn't been slept in, we never would have guessed that people had been there for 10 days! We sincerely look forward to seeing them again as guests and/or just friends returning to CT. They also at one time had a water garden and understand the complexities of that degree of gardening. Picked up some good tips from them -- so knowledgeable. We highly recommend them to other hosts...

Carol and Anthony were a true joy to have as guests -- smart, fun, generous, thoughtful, big-hearted people. Anthony had to leave early to tend to business in FLA but Carol stayed on for another week+ to visit with family nearby and enjoy the glorious autumn this year. Missed her the minute she pulled out of the driveway. We look forward to knowing them in the future in one way or another and they are most welcome back any time. Highly recommend them to other hosts.

Julie and Peter were terrific guests -- quiet as can be but ever-so-friendly and personable when out and about. We very much enjoyed getting to know them and hope to catch up with them in the future, either here or in Montana! (They are correct about the wifi -- there is none in the cottage but ethernet connections are much faster and far safer. Guests can get online easily. Cell phones do work here but the signal is not strong. People often welcome the digital detox.) Julie and Pete brought some goodies for us from Montana -- so thoughtful -- and left the cottage in great shape. We highly recommend them to other hosts.

Rob and Robin (Roberta) were just wonderful to meet -- a first for us as they came all the way from Wisconsin. We would have loved more time to get to know them as we discovered much in common. Alas we were all headed in different directions most days. We are delighted that their trip did not disappoint and look forward to seeing them again sometime -- either in Connecticut, Wisconsin, or anywhere inbetween! Blake and Jon
