Le Gite au Chez has one bedroom with a double & a single bed, with room for a cot too.
Downstairs is the kitchen/dining and sitting room area.
The bathroom is also downstairs & has a basin, shower & lavatory.


Le Gite au Chez is an ancient farmhouse which we have restored retaining the charm & exposed stone work.
It is situated in a courtyard on an old farm in very tranquil surroundings. There are many walks from the property which are also mountain biking tracks.
It has one bedroom with one double & one single bed, there is also room for a cot. Downstairs is the sitting room/dining & kitchen area and the bathroom is two steps further down. There is a television. The entrance opens onto the flower bordered garden.
The village of St.Vaury is 1km away where there is a small supermarket, a bakery & several small commerces (a small supermarket, 2 bars, 2 tabacs, a bank, charcuterie, post office, a pharmacie, a hairdressers).
Ideal place for a quiet get away or house hunting as we are between Gueret & La Souterraine.
Limoges airport (flights from Stansted, Edinburgh, Luton, Liverpool & Southampton) one hour away and La Souterraine station is 20 minutes away where there are trains from Paris( Gare Austerlitz).

There is a tennis and a basket ball court in the village. Fishing lake 1km away. Plenty of lakes nearby for swimming in (10, 15, 15 and 20 minutes away).

Nice relaxing break

We were welcomed by Rachel who was so warm and welcoming to us. She showed us around the gite and told us what was around. It was nice and quirky, only downside was that the bedroom was like a sauna at night. Even with both windows open to try and let any kind of air in. Rachel did offer to give us a fan, but we only had a couple of nights left. There was a lovely lake 20 minutes drive away which we went there to a couple of times and had a swim in it 👍🥰. Nice relaxing stay just what we needed. Lovely hosts would definitely recommend and would love to stay again ♥️

Trois jours au Chez

Petite maison bien située pour des randonnées dans la campagne creusoise. Proche du village de Saint Vaury et de Guéret. James est un hôte très sympathique et disponible qui accède à toutes nos demandes. Location idéale en saison estivale.

Excellent séjour

C’est la première fois que nous allions dans la Creuse et nous avons été agréablement surpris de découvrir une très belle région, très sous-estimée à notre avis. L’accueil de Jamie a certainement contribué à nous sentir en harmonie avec le lieu. Tour est bien aménagé et bien pensé dans la maison. Cela nous a donné envie de revenir.

magnifique endroit calme.

remarquable sejour. la quiétude, le silence , et cette maison qu'on ne voudrait jamais quitter. Les balades à pieds ou à vélo quittant cet endroit sont magnifiques. ces paysages verts légèrement vallonnés sont d'une grande beauté. Les routes bordées de fougères , sinueuses et propres nous invitent à toujours goûter à la joie d'y étre, là bas dans la Creuse.

Un vrai havre de paix !

Vous souhaitez la tranquillité nichée au milieu de la verdure, un petit coin de paradis le temps de vacances, n'hésitez plus. De belles balades à faire qui vous raviront et aux retours de ces escapades, vous pourrez échanger avec les charmants et fort sympathiques propriétaires très accueillants et profiter de la petite maison pleine de charme ainsi que du jardin. Très beau séjour.

Accueil chaleureux Gîte confortable et douillé, bien équipé. Tout ce qu'il faut, sans excès et superflu. Environnement joli. Très beau temps. Le calme de la campagne et de belles balades aux alentours avec ces sentiers, lacs et forêts. Sortie très bien accessible et indiquée. Contact simple avec les habitants de la région, grandes villes proche et commerces dans la localité. Nous serions bien rester quelques jours supplémentaire. La campagne de mon enfance. Nous avons aimé et nous y retournerons. Merci Rachel

Séjour au calme

Cadre propice pour se reposer et se ressourcer. Les hôtes sont agréables et disponibles. Concernant le logement les extérieurs sont superbes et l'intérieur est fonctionnel. Cependant pour nous qui avions un nourrisson il manquait une porte entre la pièce de vie et l'étage. C'est le seul bémol mais nous recommandons vivement ce gîte!

Why they chose this property

We bought Le Chez in 1997 and moved here permanently in 2000. It took one man 2 years to restore the cottage, learning a lot in the process.

What makes this property unique

Space & tranquility. Cycling/walking tracks run directly from the property. Surrounded by 6 hectares of land which we own, much of it wooded. Several swimming lakes nearby to cool down in the summer
