Good location for exploring the Cotswolds

The property was clean and comfortable. Our dog loved the big garden to explore. The surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful, but a very short drive to Witney with plenty of places to eat and drink. The property needs a hoover and mop bucket for guests staying with dogs, this would have been very useful.

February short break in the Cotswolds

We stayed at Coursehill Barn Annexe for 4 nights in February 2025. The location was convenient for visiting Oxford and the Cotswolds but the access road was quite potholed and bumpy. The what3words directions did not work and we were initially directed down the wrong road, fortunately we arrived during daylight otherwise it may have been quite tricky. The barn itself is very airy and warm with lovely views out onto the fields and countryside. We felt that the cleanliness could have been better, there were dirty pans, freezer and oven. The shower plug hole was also full of hair. It felt a little bit unloved, which is a shame as the fittings and furniture had obviously been of good quality. Although these might seem small issues it does impact on the general feel of a place. If the above issues are addressed I would recommend it to others.

Lovely Place

We loved the big garden and the planes flying over. The annexe was nice and spacious and had everything we needed. We could find it easily and it was great that we could park the car just outside our place. Our dog also had a great time and we weren't too far away from the wonderful villages in the Cotswolds area. We had a great time here and were sorry we had to leave.

Lovely spacious well equipped property

A bit out of the way to find as our sat nav did not take us to the property as it is down an unmade road! It is a lovely spacious property, very well equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and oven. We particularly liked the hallway entrance lobby with space for shoes, bags and dog leads. The remote controlled skylights were fabulous and very welcome in the hot weather, especially at night to get a cool breeze. From reading the other reviews about planes from Brize Norton we were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was during our weekend break. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay - as did our spaniel - who made good use of the dog friendly garden and paddock.

Coursehill Annexe

We had a lovely weekend stay at Coursehill Barn Annexe with our dog. The field for exercising the dog was perfect and the barn itself very comfortable and well equipped. Good location for driving to lovely Cotswold villages.

A Pleasant stay

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Annexe, which was very well fitted out and had good quality towels and bed linen. The kitchen was very well equipped and roomy. The location was good and was easy accessible to Witney. Brize Norton was close by so aircraft were fairly frequent but not too intrusive and we found them interesting to watch. The only slight problem was that the bed appeared to be narrower than what we are normally used to. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and we would certainly stay at the property again.

A pleasant and spacious property

My husband and I stayed at Coursehill Barn with our 5-month old baby and dog. We appreciated how spacious the property was, and it was handy to have use of the garden and field for walking our dog. We stayed 3 nights, Friday to Monday, and it was great to have a full weekend at the property (worth checking dates as it cost us no extra to stay on the Sunday night!) We were running ahead of schedule so called the property manager who confirmed we could check in slightly early. We loved the underfloor heating and the sofa was very comfortable. The location was ideal for exploring The Cotswolds and we did a day trip to Oxford. Be careful when using the postcode in a sat nav as one time it accidentally took us down the wrong part of Coursehill Lane where there is no access to the barn. As it’s a private road, the road surface can be a little bumpy so watch out for pot holes! Whilst we liked the property, for a premium listing, we would have expected slightly more in the way of basics - milk, a tea towel and larger glasses in the kitchen, as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We regularly stay in holiday lets and these are usually provided. Worth noting that there is no freezer compartment despite the listing mentioning a fridge/freezer. Witney is a lovely little town with plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. Dog-friendly pub recommendations: The Rose Revived, The Blue Boar, and The Fleece.

Absolutely perfect spot.

Absolutely perfect spot for us to stay whilst visiting our daughter who is based at RAF Brize Norton. We arrived around 8:30pm on a dark, damp evening not knowing what to expect, so the cosy beautiful Barn was a lovely welcome. Everything was where you would expect it to be and we had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Upon awakening the next day, the views out of the rear windows were beautiful and the access to local footpaths were ideal for a long, frosty walk with our Labrador, April. Facilities are great, nice shower, spacious rooms and easy to find and park right outside. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Coursehill Barn Annex

Great rural location with good local facilities. The accommodation was clean, well maintained and offered all we required for our stay. For a one bedroom property the vaulted ceilings added to the spacious layout. The setting proved ideal for daily dog walks and an excellent base for exploring both the Cotswolds and other interesting locations. The flights into Brize Norton added to the ambiance without being intrusive. Overall my wife and I thought the Annex was an excellent find, we really enjoyed our stay assisted by good weather.

Weekend Stay

Very nice location, property very clean and tidy our dog loved the additional field for his excercise. The journey into Witney took about 5 minutes depending on traffic. As an aircraft enthusiast you are on the flight path for Brize Norton. This is our second visit and will definitely come again.

Loved the Annexe

Great place to stay. Me and the dog loved it. Very quiet (except being on the flight path of RAF Brize Norton). Loved the planes, so it didn't bother me, after the shock of the first one! Beautifully furnished, with an amazing garden and field beyond for the dog. Located close to visit the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Would highly recommend.

COURSE HILL ANNEXE

Scored 3 for value for money as you only really get one full day I was expecting full weekend. Sofa was in a very poor condition ripped had to put a blanket over. Not value for money because of the limited time you could stay in the annexe. (5pm arrival 10am departure) Unfortunately we had gardeners with chainsaws all of Saturday the noise was horrendous and we haven't even been offered compensation of some kind therefore we would not use this company again.

Here and There

We stayed here for a few nights before journeying on. The Annexe was clean and tidy on arrival with everything in its place so no problem there. The property lacked a few facilities though. Call me old fashioned if you like but there was no teapot or any wine glasses. Also the settee cushions need recovering. For the more savvy, the WIFI is strong and the TV good. Nice and peaceful with access to large lawned garden with plenty of bird life to see. Also under the approach to Brize Norton so some aircraft spotting. Airbus A400, C17 Globemaster and Voyager aircraft. Not intrusive though. Witney is a nice town and would you believe it, parking is free in the multi story car park for four hours. That’s to be admired, a forward thinking council. The 20 mph speed limits are a nuisance though, but that’s just my opinion. Overall a good few days. Oh and take in in the owners advice and use the north entrance from the road. The track down to the place is a bit rough.

A fantastic bolt hole!

We had a fantastic long weekend at Coursehill Barn - the barn conversion is very well done and comfortable. There was also the use of the field which was good for our dog to enjoy running around in.

An enjoyable break.

The Barn is lovely and roomy and everything was nice and clean. Well placed for many places to visit in the area. Pleasant gardens. Ignore your Satnav if it tells you to use the eastern 'arm' of Coursehill Lane to get there, use the northern 'arm' (sorry, can't think of a better way to explain it!).

Beautiful, quiet and comfortable spot

It was lovely to wake up to the views and watch the big sky at night. The house was very comfortable and with everything one needed, it was also warm. James our contact and the management company were very quick to reply when I contacted them. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful place to stay

We stayed in this Annex as it was close to landmarks we wanted to visit within Oxfordshire. The Annex is gorgeous, very spacious and very cosy. It's in a very tucked away location yet close to amenities. Its surrounded by a few other beautiful properties but nonetheless very quiet. Only thing we picked up on was the dog hair on the bed throw and on the mat on the living room. All in all, a lovely place to stay and would definitely stay again!

Coursehill barn annex November 2022

Overall the property was clean and the location good (we don't mind planes overhead). The dog enjoyed the exercise space that was made available. The provision of equipment was generally satisfactory although a coffee table on which to put cups when sitting on the sofa would have been nice. A few more directions such as the location of bins and what to put in them would also have been appreciated. The only real problem we had was that we were cold, even though we were loaned a thick blanket (thankyou James). The property was cold when we arrived and took quite a long time to heat up. We would happily return in warmer weather.
