Lovely Marigny Home. Super Clean & Off Street Parking
COVID-19 UPDATE: We have implemented enhanced cleaning protocols, lowered our rates and adjusted our refund policy. We are very dedicated to the safety of our guests. Our "clean team" is enjoying keep the home sparkling.
I bought my home in 1989 and take pride in the restoration where the beauty of the past mixes with the comforts of the present. This house has been a blessing to me, as it is where I created my entertainment and costume company. Over the years we created many incredible Mardi Gras costumes right here in this house, before moving my business to the French Quarter, where I opened "The Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture". There are some great costumes displayed in this house for your enjoyment and of course all guests get discount tickets to my museum.
Guests enjoy gathering on the front porch or in our large family room, which is the perfect spot for family groups or friends wanting their own rooms, plus wonderful spaces to gather in. This home will give you an authentic New Orleans experience, and is one of the loveliest houses in the Faubourg Marigny district.
A short and pleasant walk to the French Quarter, the home is just three blocks from all of the live music clubs, restaurants, and art markets on Frenchman Street, only one block from the Saint Claude Arts District and its exciting nightlife, and a short walk to the French Quarter.
We are one block from Starbucks and a newly opened Robert’s Fresh Market supermarket with prepared food. We are one of the few houses in the Faubourg Marigny that has a driveway. We can accommodate three vehicles.
This historic home features fifteen foot high ceilings, original hardwood floors, and lovely gaseliers (half gas / half electric) hanging throughout. The master suite has sliding divider doors that can separate the bedroom and sitting room which has large windows that open to allow guests to walk out onto furnished front porch. The entrance hallway into the home leads into an open area then to a great room - perfect for large groups to gather. The second bedroom has two queen beds and a fireplace. The third bedroom has a queen as well. Every bedroom has a new 42” TV in it. There is one large bathroom off of the family room in the main house with a walk in shower.
There is a peaceful energy to the house and everyone who has stayed here has LOVED IT. Please see our reviews! We get GREAT REVIEWS!!!!

Great place, great people!I’d recommend it 100%!Derek is a responsive and informative host. Easy walk to French district without being in the noice and commotion. Grocery across the street. Multiple restaurants in 2-3 blocks.
The hosts were beyond hospitable. They made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The house was beautifully well kept and comfy. Location was terrific, with just a little walk to the French Quarter and lovely local restaurants. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.
We loved our stay! Our hosts were so accommodating and welcoming. The home is historic and comfortable, and it was in a great location for both walking to the French Quarter and enjoying the Marigny neighborhood. I would give our hosts 10 stars if I could!
The house was comfortable and the hosts are amazing! There are so many restaurants to try so we didn’t really use the kitchen much, but it was nice to enjoy our coffee in the morning. It’s an old charming house with a lot of history! We appreciated being able to use the driveway to park our vehicle instead of parking iton the street.
The grocery store is located right across the street on the next block. The store has items that you can purchase for cooking, but I loved that it also had healthy pre-made food for purchase. There was also a food hall within walking distance. The neighborhood was safe. The home was spacious and clean. My family enjoyed sitting on the front porch the most.
Excellent hosting by the owners who welcomed us to the property with a friendly tour. The house was cool and clean with great character. Beds were comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. We spent lots of time on the shady front porch. The location was the highlight with a grocery store less than a block away and a quick walk to the bus station and jazz clubs on Frenchmen. Would definitely stay again
We had a wonderful visit to New Orleans, staying in Carl and Darric’s beautiful, historic home. The location was fantastic - in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the jazz clubs on Frenchmen Street and across the street from a fantastic grocery store. Darric greeted us and gave us a fabulous overview of the history of the neighborhood and the historic home - a grand space with high ceilings and large rooms, very comfortable beds, and an area to lounge in for downtime. The hospitality of the owners, the neighborhood, and the location make it a great place to stay during a trip to the city.
One of the best vacation rental experiences we've ever had. Darric let us check in early, met us and showed us around upon arrival, and let us stay past check-out until we needed to leave for the airport. The house was centrally located, beautiful, and clean. Thank you!
Carl's house was the perfect getaway for our stay in New Orleans. This wonderful house was a quick walk from the French Quarter with easy access to a grocery store and local restaurants. We loved sitting on the porch in the evening when not out experiencing the town. We also visited his Mardi Gras museum and had a great time. Our only regret was that it didnt last longer.
Enjoyed everything about the home. Such great access to the French Quarter and other great parts of the city. The grocery store closes by is extremely convenient!
Stayed for 5 nights, and went to our first Jazzfest. The house is conveniently located with great restaurants and nightlife on Frenchman’s, a few blocks away. Darric met with us and showed us the house and was available 24/7 if we needed anything. Great host and great house!

Thank you for the compliments. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family so much. Come again sometime
The location was perfect. Walking distance to everything. Grandma spent most of her time on the porch enjoying the neighbors. Lucky there was a grocery store nearby for necessities.
Great Location for being able to experience the French quarter. A 15 minutes walk into the thick of things.
Yard to park was a plus!
The house was spacious true to the Old Charm style of New Orleans.
Host was very responsive and gave us a thorough tour of the house.
We would definitely stay again.
Our stay at Carl's was perfect! The house is incredibly beautiful and holds so much history. Its quite larger than we realized too.
Carl and Derreck are very kind and generous, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home.
Will be staying here again!
It was clean and accommodated all our needs. We were a family of 6 and had plenty of room. It was a quick walk to Frenchman Street and the grocery store was across the street. They were great at communicating and helpful with all our needs. Loved sitting on the front porch in the mornings with a friendly cat. Would definitely stay here again!
House is even more lovely than the photos. Very comfortable for our party of 5. Comfy beds, good air conditioning and a well-stocked kitchen. The location is perfect. Nice safe neighborhood. Can easily walk to Frenchman Street, French Market and lots of great restaurants plus a supermarket nearby. The hosts were wonderful! Would stay again!
