North Mains Cottage is a wonderful semi-detached cottage resting in the grounds of Craigievar Castle near Alford, Aberdeenshire. Hostingon the first floor two twin bedrooms, along with a bathroom on the ground floor, this property can sleep up to four guests. There is also a kitchen and a living/dining room with a woodburning stove. Outside there is parking beside the property and access to the castle grounds. North Mains Cottage makes a perfect base for a holiday to Scotland with friends.

Amenities: Electric central heating with wood burning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher. TV and DVD player. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available. Off-road parking for 2 cars close to the cottage. Access to the castle grounds. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop & pub 5.3 miles. Note: There is no WiFi at this property and mobile phone reception can be poor. Note: There is a steep path leading to the entrance of the cottage, Internally there is a staircase to the first floor. Note: Dogs are not allowed on beds or any of the furniture, you may like to bring an old towel to wipe muddy paws. Note: Fuel for the wood-burning stove is not provided, logs and coal are available locally at petrol stations and shops, we kindly ask that you do not collect wood from the estate. Note: The beds in the twin room cannot be made into one large bed, please consider this when booking. Note: If the Accommodation becomes inaccessible due to bad weather the National Trust for Scotland will take all reasonable steps to inform you and to offer an alternative National Trust for Scotland property. Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Town: Alford is a small rural town resting in Aberdeenshire sitting by the River Don and the hills of Bennachie and Coreen. The town boasts a rich history as it is home to the Battle of Alford battleground, Alford Heritage Centre and the Grampian Transport Museum. Alford has a variety of shops, with a local butcher and a pub, as well as local fish van visiting every Tuesday and a fish and chip van every Thursday. Just outside the town is the spectacular Craigievar Castle, while Alford also has Alford Golf Course and Haughton and Murray country park.

schöne kleine Ferienwohnung
Die saubere und großzügig ausgestattete Wohnung ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für jede Art Ziel in der Nähe. Abderdeen und die Küstenstädte, der Whiskey Trail, Wanderungen im naheliegenden Nationalpark oder kleine Runden vor Ort. Das direkt vor Ort liegende Schloss war leider wegen Renovierungsarbeiten geschlossen. Wer völlige Abgeschiedenheit (kein WLAN, kein Handy-Empfang) sucht, ist hier genau richtig!
