About this property

Idyllic rural country escape close to the Cairngorms National Park.

Beautiful rural country views. The perfect location close to many local attractions, beautiful scenery, hillwalking, mountain bike trails and many castles to explore.

The property has its own enclosed private garden and the hot tub is the perfect place to chill out and relax whatever the weather. On a beautiful clear evening, you can gaze up at the stars with little to no light pollution. This is a truly fantastic experience.

Our Pygmy goats, hens, cockerel and ducks are sure to add a little extra to your stay with their quirky little personalities.

The village of Alford is a busy village only 7 miles away and has a few pubs and restaurants where you can enjoy a lovely meal. There is the Haughton Arms Hotel. The Forbes Arms Hotel. The Bistro and some other small cafes, gift shops, chemists and the like.

If you enjoy fine dining, we are only 3.5 miles from Kildrummy Inn. The atmosphere, decor and menus there are amazing and well worth a visit.

Our holiday home is a home from home. We have a fully fitted kitchen with everything you need to make meals.

Our bathroom is fitted with a walk in shower We provide shampoo, conditioner and shower gel we also provide towels.

The largest bedroom has a double bed and two single beds. The smaller bedroom has a large king sizebed.

The lounge/dining room is bright and airy. It is a very spacious room with the most comfortable sofa you can imagine. We have a smart tv where you can access Netflix and Amazon prime. We also have a selection of DVDs, some board games and a Bluetooth speaker.

We have free parking on the premises.

We are committed to making your stay at our place a memorable one and hope you love it here as much as we do.

What makes this property unique

Barclay’s But n Ben is a relaxing country retreat with stunning views and is close to the Cairngorms National Park. Our holiday home has everything you could need for your stay. There is free parking and free WiFi. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, crockery, cooking oil, salt and pepper, as well as tea and coffee. The bathroom is equipped with Towels, toilet roll, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. All bed linen is included and the main living area is large and spacious and has a smart tv where you can access Amazon Prime and Netflix (through your own accounts). If there’s something we’ve missed, we’d be happy to try and provide it to you.

There are many local tourist attractions nearby such as castles, distilleries, the Grampian Transport Museum and Alford ski slope.

There is also fantastic hillwalking in the surrounding areas, some hills are accessible straight from the front door. The Tarland bike trails (located on Pressendye) can also be accessed from our property. If you’re looking for a mountain bike holiday then this is the perfect place for you.

We have a lovely hot tub in the private garden which is perfect for relaxing in with a glass of bubbly after a day of fun and adventure.
