Curlew Loft is decorated throughout in Farrow and Ball colours and the owners distinctive design style in combining work from local artists blended with contemporary and period furniture creates the perfect setting to enjoy a tranquil and romantic escape away from it all.
The gorgeous high ceiling open plan kitchen, diner and living room makes for a very comfortable atmosphere and mirrors contemporary living lifestyles. Rich oak flooring throughout completes the elegant look with colourful rugs adding a dash of vibrancy. A reading area with comfortable furniture gives an opportunity to sit, read or just doze.
The kitchen area has a stylish fully fitted kitchen with large island unit and comfortable stools making the ideal place for a relaxed breakfast. The dining area furnished with table and chairs gives ample space to enjoy more formal dining and includes and honesty bar for your enjoyment.
The property boasts a light and spacious bedroom with a sumptuous kingsize bed dressed in good quality linen and accompanied by cushions and throw. The bedroom offers plentiful storage, full length mirror and dressing table with hairdryer and hair straighteners. Off the bedroom is a separate dressing room with period pine wardrobe.
Enjoy the exquisite bathroom with luxurious walk-in rainfall shower and complementary local artisan fragrance body care toiletries. Underfloor heating and heated towel rail keep the fluffy White Company towels and dressing robes wonderfully warm and inviting.
A welcome pack is provided along with fresh eggs from the owner’s chickens – corn is provided if you fancy wandering over, saying hello and feeding the ‘girls’.
The tiered private gravel garden offers the perfect place to sit, contemplate and enjoy the views. The garden with its pergola and bench, along with bistro furniture shaded by a magnificent Copper Beech makes it the perfect spot for a late breakfast or relaxed lunch. In the evenings let the warmth from your fire bowl keep the chill away.
With the unspoilt Trough of Bowland so close to the doorstep, the garden attracts a plethora of wildlife giving you the opportunity to sit and observe the local fauna and flora at your leisure. In Spring and Summer the Curlews, Lapwings and Oyster Catchers come up from Morecambe Bay to their nesting grounds. For the more energetic, bike storage can be arranged pre-arrival. Cycle hire is available locally. Woodlands offer off-road and mountain biking courses. Local walking maps are available of the owner’s favourite walks
Curlew Loft nestles on the border of the Trough of Bowland, 6 miles from Lancaster. Ideal for exploring the North West of England. With easy access to the M6 motorway, Curlew Loft is an ideal base to explore other areas from the hills of the Lake District National Park to the coastline of Morecambe Bay. The area is a mecca for those wishing to enjoy the fresh country air and explore the local footpaths or cycle the quite country lanes. The market town of Garstang offers a variety of shops, cafés and pubs, as well as a weekly Thursday market. The historic city of Lancaster boasts a wealth of restaurants, shops and pubs; or head up to the castle for stories of the famous Pendle witches. The nearby village of Dolphinholme boasts a welcoming traditional pub and restaurant offering a local shop within, selling local produce and essentials. Beach 16 miles.
