About this property

Vintage Caravan

Willow sleeps, 2 adults and 2 small children.
Willow is a 50’s girl with accurate era fittings and décor. She is a very rare model which we were lucky to find, she is an all-original girl, lovingly cared for by the same family from new.
Willow is situated in the lower garden tucked away in a quiet spot with her neighbours the Bluebells; our flock of six hens that lay the eggs that you will find in your welcome pack. She has a small kitchenette with the original gas cooker which has an oven and two burners, and a larder cupboard in which we have installed a modern fridge and microwave. The living area has a small double bed that drops down from a hideaway cupboard and has a new handmade mattress to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. Soft as down duvet for the double bed, as well as luxurious sleeping bags for children, are also provided together with pillows and soft fluffy towels. There is seating on both sides around a freestanding folding table at the front of the caravan. This seating provides sleeping for the two children; please note that the length of the seating is 5’ 11”. Therefore Willow is perfect for couples; however, unlike Withy cottage 1 & 2 she is not suitable for pets.
During the day with the bed folded away there is a spacious area to sit, and on the colder days with the fire on you can spend a cosy afternoon reading or playing one of the many games to be found in the cupboards. Also provided is a vast selection of watercolour paints, paper and brushes etc, together with books on learning to paint with watercolours.
Shower facilities: the cabin is just a short distance from Willow and has a WC and shower, a sink for washing up and a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cooking facilities: in addition to the stove in Willow, there is a fire pit and a barbeque with large comfortable benches around the fire where you can relax away a summers evening.
Please see the plan diagram for details on Willow.

The ancient beauty and diverse wildlife of the area makes it one of the landscapes that have inspired many artists and photographers as well as drawing visitors from all over the world. The ancient Muchelney Abbey is less than 2 miles from Huish Episcopi and Glastonbury Tor is only 12 miles away.

The cottages were built in the early 1800's these blue lias stone cottages would have originally been thatched and Withy House was built in 1898 in the style of a Victorian Villa. All have been have been tastefully renovated with many original features restored, I have decorated and furnished them as if we were to be living there myself and I believe that I have made a truly comfortable home from home using only the very best to ensure that your stay with us is a wonderful experience.

Willow Vintage Caravan in the lower garden of the cottages has a shower and toilet in the garden cabin. Willow is a 50’s girl with accurate era fittings and décor. She is a very rare model which we were lucky to find, she is an all-original girl, lovingly cared for by the same family from new.

I have lived in Knapp House which is next to Withy Cottage for many years. I enjoy living in this beautiful & peaceful part of the country. I have thoroughly enjoyed renovating the cottages & house, transforming them into somewhere that our guests can really relax and enjoy the fabulous Somerset Levels on foot by bicycle or car.

I have worked as a Beauty Therapist for the past 30 years from my clinic in the small town of Castle Cary, just 25 minutes away.

I aim to offer the very best service you could hope for and as I live so close I am on always hand should you need.

With this in mind, although the accommodation is self-catering I have chosen to offer a simple breakfast for the first night of your stay which will be left in the kitchen for you to prepare for yourself at your leisure.
I love the area because of its natural beauty with each season there is always something happening. Fantastic nature and wildlife surround us in an understated way. Ideal for special interests such as walking, bird watching, fishing & visiting national trust houses & historic monuments nearby but yet not far from places such as Bath, Bristol & seaside West Bay, Lyme Regis.
