About this property
Rose Lodge, Eco Lodge with Hot Tub
Summary:
Situated in a rural position with outstanding views across the Somerset Levels, Rose Lodge is set within the owners’ grounds, near the village of Aller, and artisan town of Langport. It has been lovingly converted from a former mobile home with cedar cladding and double glazing. After a day spent exploring this beautiful part of the country, you can relax in the inviting hot tub whilst savouring the 180-degree view across the Somerset Levels. Please check the children rules before booking.
The Space:
Rose Lodge is a converted mobile home, much loved by our family and friends. There are 15 steps up to the lodge from the parking area and the parking is private and off road. The interior is new with all modern facilities but you should note that the original ceiling is low and interior doors narrow.
Private, eco hot tub and garden for the exclusive use of guests in the lodge. The hot tub is heated by a bio-mass boiler which is a completely renewable energy source. Hot tub is ready for arrival and stays hot no matter how long you wish to stay in it, far better than the electric versions! The hot tub is brand new, 2021, very ergonomic and has easy to use temperature, jets and light controls and also has integral blue tooth speakers to play music whilst you relax. Private garden includes patio and seating area, gas BBQ.
CHILDREN - No under 5's due to dangers of steps in garden and hot tub - only exception to this is infants that are too young to be crawling - you would need to bring a Moses basket or similar as there is no room for a travel cot.
No Sunday arrivals I'm afraid
Guest Access:
There are lovely country walks over rural footpaths straight from the door, fishing, golf and quaint village pubs nearby. Within easy driving distance are many historic houses such as Muchelney Abbey, Forde Abbey, and National Trust’s Montacute House and Tintinhull House.
The Somerset Levels, with their abundance of wildlife and nature reserves, are on the doorstep, or you can explore the many other places of interest. Try some retail therapy at the shopping outlet of Clarks Village; discover Glastonbury with its enchanting tor and abbey; or drive on to the cathedral city of Wells with its Bishops Palace and character shops.

The Local Area
• Langport and Somerton both benefit from free parking, a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and some amazing local produce.
Lots of wonderful cafes, lovely walks along the river and really good pubs with super food.
• Butchers; Langport has 2 wonderful butcher shops; Black Sheep and Scrivens. Both have a wonderful range of local meats and cheeses, homemade pies, local eggs and local veg. You won’t regret shopping here.
• Bakers; we have an artisan bakery, Kitchen which makes wonderful bread, savoury snacks and cakes, the chef and co-owner used to chef at Buckingham Palace, lucky us! We also have a more traditional bakery just a few doors from Kitchen so you will find everything you need.
• Langport Stores – health foods, specialist foods, bread, olive oils, locally made chocolate, gluten free products and a very friendly service.
• Fuel – Esso petrol station 1 mile away, turn left out of the drive and follow the main road and you will come to it on your left. They also have air for tyres and a car wash.
• Supermarkets; Tesco in Langport, Williams in Somerton who stock a very good range of local produce and the frozen ‘Cook’ range. Sainsbury’s in Street and Taunton and Waitrose in Wells.
Getting Around:
No Sunday check ins
Other Things to Note:
Further afield, the Roman spa town of Bath is well worth a visit, as well as the county town of Taunton, and further on, the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park. If you have time, spend a day or two in west Dorset and explore the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast. You will have much to do for a fulfilling holiday. Beach 22 miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Please check with first us if you wish to arrive on a Sunday as this is not always possible.
