Large 1 BDRM walk-out apartment - private beach, directly on Lake Superior

This is a spacious 800 sq. ft. lower level walk-out apartment. It is located directly on the shore of magnificent Lake Superior and is only steps from the beach. Beach umbrella and chairs, fire pit and wood, an outdoor bistro table, and a Weber grill with charcoal are all provided. The apartment has an efficiency kitchen and a private entrance with your own personal key.

It features a large flat screen TV, premium channels, pool table, elliptical bike, bathroom w/electric sauna, and a kitchenette. There is a lovely private queen size bedroom featuring high quality ironed sheets. In addition, there is an electric fireplace and high-speed fiber optic wifi available for your use.

This property is located 15 minutes from Munising and the famous Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore where you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and picture taking. Grand Island has hiking trails, sea caves, and waterfalls. Both sites are famous for their brilliant colored sandstone cliffs. Munising Bay has a lovely harbor, restaurants, microbreweries, and free concerts in the park on Tuesday evenings.

The quaint city of Marquette is about 35 minutes away and is home to Northern Michigan University. Its locations in the harbor makes for a very picturesque setting. There you can find several breweries, restaurants, and shops. If golf is your passion, there are three courses nearby: Pictured Rocks Golf Course in Munising, Grey Walls in Marquette, and Sweetgrass in Escanaba.

If fishing is your thing, there are two charter boat companies in Shelter Bay about 2 miles west of the property which offer full and 1/2
day excursions. There is also a public boat launch less that a mile east of the apartment, so you're almost certain to come home with dinner.

Julie and Bob were some of the best hosts we've ever had, hands down. Their apartment is cost and has even you need. They are genetics with their recommendations and there's great communication. The location is fantastic, right on the lake with an incredible view. And they provide local recommendations and guidebooks. If we find ourselves in the UP again, we'll definitely stay here!

We had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean and comfy. The bed was soooo comfortable and the iron sheets were divine! We enjoyed spending the day at the private beach and using the sauna. Julie and Bob made sure we had everything we needed and even included breakfast items, coffee, and chocolates! One of the best rentals we have ever been to. Thank you for the hospitality! the Olks

This was a good place to stay. Right on Lake Superior, bonfire on the beach. Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the sauna and pool table. We went to Marquette for a day of walking around shops and just taking in the views. Also close to pictured rocks which we did a 7 mile hike. The view was worth it. Overall we enjoyed it

What an amazing stay! Julie and Bob have thought of everything and were wonderful hosts. We loved watching the sun rise and set from the deck and the beach. The views were glorious and the sand easy to walk on. We even got treated to the northern lights one evening! Im hoping to go back sometime.

Great location to relax or explore the U.P.

As with every other review, we loved their place! It's perfectly between Munising and Marquette with easy access to lots of outdoor trails. It felt just like home, even more so coming to the breakfast food to give us time to get to the grocery. Don't miss going out to see the stars!

The best weekend getaway!

Bob and Julie were the best hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed plus some. The property and place were kept very clean and we will definitely be staying here again on our next trip up north!

Perfect location, hosts and accommodations

Julie and Bob were so friendly and have thought of everything their guests could possibly want/need. The welcome gift and "starter" breakfast items were so thoughtful, the sauna so relaxing, the bed very comfortable and the Lake Superior beach so beautiful. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

We are both retired school teachers from the lower peninsula who moved here to live in this beautiful area. We previously lived in Sterling Heights where we raised our six children. We know have 5 wonderful grandchildren and a sixth is due this summer. All of our children love to come visit us here, and it has become a very special place for them as well as us. We've made many meaningful memories here. We hope that you will do the same, and enjoy our home as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

This property is located between the two cities of Munising and Marquette. We are in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest and some of the most beautiful shoreline in the Upper Peninsula. From the property you can see Grand Island in the distance and picturesque little AuTrain Island is within a
kayak ride away. You cannot find another lodging closer to the water than Cherry Pointe Cottage Apartment or more accommodating hosts.

What makes this property unique

Although we live on the premises, you will be the only other people on this property. You have a private keyed entrance and a very large area to stay; more spacious and homey than a hotel/motel room. It's a cozy, comfortable apartment.
