Great stay, loves the location and wildlife, the kayaks and canoe were clean and easy to use. It was so peaceful , loved the location visited waterfalls. Beds were comfortable, ticks were an issue ..:but not their fault
We had a fantastic 5 days on the peninsula. We enjoyed the serenity of the property, kayaking, paddle boating and fishing with the kids from the dock. Caught a few small Bluegill and Perch. Fire with s'mores at night. We also took advantage of the Pictured Rock Lakeshore area with hiking, boat trips, waterfalls and viewpoints. A trip we will never forget. Would love to come back soon!
We had a great stay at this location. The lake is beautiful, the house was perfect for our family, and the proximity to the Pictured Rocks is ideal. We would definitely stay here again.
Had a wonderful time at this location and the area was so peaceful and quiet. The area and lake were beautiful and serene. I would highly recommend staying here if your looking for a great vacation to get away from it all.
We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very peaceful. The lake was beautiful. Having access to the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat were great. The cottage was perfect for the 4 of us.
Our stay was absolutely perfect! The lake is clear and warm. Even when it rained the sunroom let us enjoy the view of the lake. We have already booked our trip here for next year.
We had a wonderful time visiting this cottage. It's very close to Munising, and conveniently located near Hiawatha National Forest and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for kayaking, hiking, and biking. We saw 9 different waterfalls that are just a short drive from the cabin. When we were at the cottage, the kayaks and paddleboat allowed for lovely trips around 16 Mile Lake. It is a very peaceful location.
The property was even more beautiful than the pictures show! Our family of 5 fit comfortably in the home and enjoyed using the boat and kayaking around the lake. This home made a great home base as we traveled around the UP. We would definitely recommend this location to others!
This property is well kept and has everything you need for a relaxing trip to the U.P. The owners are easy to work with and very responsive. The property is very clean! The location to pictures rocks and Lake Superior offer good activities if you want to get out and see the area!

This cabin in the woods and on the water is secluded yet only minutes to the town of Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The owners are very helpful and take great care of their property. They had a binder with recommended activities for local adventure and places to eat. They were right, the pastys at Au Train General Store are the best. We’ll definitely return to this wonderful place.

The cottage and the lake were lovely. Just 20 min or so from Munising. Favorite part was the total silence of the nights there and the brilliant night sky. Saw lots of satellites and the Milky Way. Gorgeous!
Beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the view of the lake while cooking out on the grill. The kids loved kayaking and paddle boating around the lake. The house is clean and welcoming. So many amazing waterfalls and beautiful views to explore in the area. This was our first time not not just in the UP, but in Michigan and we were not disappointed!
This U.P. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Located on a quiet lake close to Pictured Rocks it is the perfect up-north getaway. Clean and well equipped with all the modern conveniences in an old-school cottage atmosphere. They even had a canoe and kayaks we could use for an early morning paddle on the glass smooth lake. Gorgeous! The hosts were responsive and the property was just as advertised. Well worth the great VRBO rating.
Had a great time at this cabin! It was our home base for exploring the UP and its a great location. Our teen boys enjoyed fishing from the dock and canoe. The hubbs and I really liked kayaking in the quiet mornings and we even took our tween daughter out on the pedal boat! Campfires and s’mores and stars at night. We never turned on the TV! And it was close enough to Munising and Pictured Rocks for adventuring. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking. And the temps were perfect for sleeping with windows open. Our youngest declared this the best vacation ever! 😃
We absolutely loved everything about this property! The cabin has an open, spacious feeling that made it so easy to cook, visit, play games and let our little 8 month grandson play on the beautiful hardwood floors. The lake was beautiful and it was so nice to have the canoe and motorboat to cruise around the lake on. We LOVED the sauna and started our mornings off with a sauna and dip in the lake. My daughter said she felt like she was at a spa! The kitchen is well equipped and the large deck overlooking the lake was perfect for grilling and chilling on. The little sandy beach area was delightful and so nice for our little grand baby to play at. It is in an excellent location to take on all of the amazing waterfalls and sites that the Pictured Rocks area has to offer! This place is truly an up north cabin on a lake gem!! We loved it so much we booked it for a longer stay next summer!
This cabin was our homebase for a Kayaking Trip to Pictured Rocks. (we went out with Paddlepicturedrocks, highly recommend them too). The cabin was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. Laundry is available. Canoe, 2 kayaks and paddle boat were in good shape and we used them all. Kids enjoyed jumping off the dock (water is a bit shallow though) and exploring the lakes. Check out the chapel on Angel Island. Fishing was OK, the lake is full of bullhead catfish so you will catch a lot of those.
The Finnish sauna is wonderful. We used it nightly.
The owners are very helpful and even ran over a load of firewood when we ran out.
Great place for a family get away just outside Munising.
The cabin was perfect, comfortable and clean. So nice to have a great place to come back to and rest and relax after enjoying all the area has to offer. Beautiful location, lots of wildlife around, yet close enough to go into town for meals or groceries.
One of my daughters and I, and two of my grandchildren, ages 8 and 11, just loved our stay! My grandson caught a 25” pike right off the dock! My granddaughter loved the lake to perform her gymnastics stunts in, and swim even though the water was a tad chilly! We enjoyed the fishing boat, and kayaks too.
And, oh my gosh, we appreciated Pat coming to make sure we were ok when the power went out.
We enjoyed so many close by attractions too.
Thanks again,
Darcy and family
The interior of the property was very dated and tired, needs to be updated.
For the price of the rental it should have been better than it was, great potential based on location.
Had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Location is perfect for trips into town and seeing all the beautiful sights in the area. Kayaking on the lake in the morning is gorgeous, especially if you head to the other side of the peninsula!
We suggest renting a pontoon if you want to see pictured rocks. And Main Street Pizza really hits the spot after a day on the water!
I am from the Upper Peninsula and met my husband Pat here at 16 Mile Lake. His parents own a cottage just down the road from our Hide-A-Way and we own our own home right next door to them. We recently purchased the DQ in Munising. We are happy to call the U.P. home! The U.P. brings much joy to our lives and we hope to share that joy with others. We hope you enjoy yourselves at our Peninsula Point Hide-A-Way!
What makes this property unique
Enjoy the authentic Finnish Sauna! Sit right next to the water and enjoy a bonfire while watching the sun go down. 300 feet of private lake frontage! Swim, kayak, boat, canoe or fish. Come and experience our many miles of Side by Side/fourwheeler roads and trails. We are within a short distance of Pictured Rock National Lakeshore, waterfalls, pristine beaches, golf and restaurants! One of our favorites is the Buckhorn Resort just 6 short miles away. We love the UP and hope you will too!
