Nestled on a stunning 455-acre chain of interconnected lakes—including Straits, Deep, Corner, and Skeels Lakes—the property provides endless opportunities for boating, fishing, paddling, and exploring Michigan's natural beauty. Designed to comfortably sleep six guests, the charming two-bedroom home features gorgeous knotty pine interiors and organic touches that blend seamlessly with modern comforts, creating a timeless, nostalgic Up North retreat. Whether you're sipping morning coffee in the quaint screened-in treehouse overlooking the lake, setting out on the provided kayaks and paddle boat, paddling the scenic Indian River Canoe Trail just 300 yards away, or sharing stories around a lakeside campfire, this hidden gem promises an unforgettable Michigan escape.

Bugs: Mosquitoes are common during the summer months and near the water. Bug spray is recommended.

Cable: No traditional cable. A smart TV with streaming capabilities is available.

Cell Phone Service: Only AT&T works really well. Guests can use wifi calling.

Coffee Maker: There's a 12 cup standard coffeemaker and a Keurig at the property for guest use.

Dock: There are two docks at the property for guest use. One is 24 feet, the other is 10 feet with a sitting area at one end.

Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.

Fireplace: There is a wood burning fireplace at the property. One bundle of wood will be available for guest use.

Fire-pit: There is a fire pit for guest use. One bundle of wood will be provided.

Fishing: Allowed off dock.

Fishing License: A license is required to fish in Michigan.

Fishing Poles: Please bring your own fishing poles.

Golf: Pictured Rocks Golf Club/20 miles away.

Grill: There is a propane griddle style grill in the outdoor kitchen area and a charcoal grill for guest use. Propane is provided. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.

Grocery Store: Midway general is 4 miles away

Handicap Friendly: There are no additional features that make this property handicap friendly/ADA compliant.

Heat: Electric "zoned" heating. Each bedroom has its own thermostat.

Hunting: Hunting is not allowed on the property. Please follow all local and state guidelines if hunting in the area.

Internet/WIFI: Jamadots 500mbps

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels.

Parking: There is room for one car in the garage, and room for 10 cars in the extensive drive.

Pets: 1 pet is allowed at the property. Please be advised the lot is not fenced and the Upper Peninsula has plentiful wildlife, including bear. Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. If you allow your pets on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

Privacy: Very private, wooded lot. Neighbors are slightly visible.

Space: Multi-level home in the Hiawatha National Forest.

Special Features: Hot tub, outdoor shower, kayaks, paddle boat, and a screened in treehouse overlooking the lake!

Seniors: Seniors would be fine in the home and treehouse outbuilding but access to the lake includes 14 stairs.

Televisions: There is a 55" Smart TV for streaming in the living room.

Towels: All bath, beach, and kitchen towels will be provided during your stay.

Washer and Dryer: There is a washer and dryer for guest use.

Wood: One bundle of wood for the indoor and outdoor fireplaces will be provided. Guests must provide their own after that.

Amazing place to bring your grown children for some swimming/kayaking/fishing. Dog had some fun too! Easily accommodated 5 adults and a big dog. Easy in and easy out. Wouldn’t hesitate to book this location annually.
