Originally an 18th century house, the space was renovated fully in April 2019 and divided into two separate one-bedroomed apartments, one on each level, each as hip as the other. Restored patterned tiles, marble floors, exposed stone walls, traditional Maltese wooden balconies and modern chic interiors.
Each apartment can accommodate up to 4 guests in each, Carmelita caters for the discerning guest, offering a highly personalized service including fully equipped kitchettes, dining area, sitting room, ensuite showers and ECO friendly amenities, free WiFi, discreetness and individual attention. For Carmelita’s founders, couple Nadine Pecorella and Kenneth Camilleri, it was their chance to create what they felt is an ideal island and city vacation accommodation combined to perfection. It was always their dream to own and run a historic property, offering accommodation to travellers in a unique setting. They had been searching for the right property for years, until in 2017, they came across this run-down unique neo-classical townhouse in the heart of Valletta, with great potential.

Nadine comes from a hotel background, studied Tourism and Hotel Management and worked in various top 5* luxury hotels in Malta and overseas, before setting up her own Destination Management company in 2012, called Wanderlust Her genuine passion for hospitality is in her blood and it has always been part of her lifestyle. Kenneth, her husband travelled around the globe and it was his chance to create a product that ticked most boxes for an ideal vacation rental. Their shared frustration at the hospitality’s shortcomings, and their refusal to compromise on ideas, quality and service standards, brought them to this original concept of Carmelita Valletta.
