Situated in the heart of the park of the chateau d'Hodebert, la maison de la grille (sleeps 4) is the ideal place to rest, enjoy nature and visit the chateaux of the Loire Valley.
Our philosophy: to furnish a house as if it were intended for our friends, our family or simply for us. You will be welcome all year round for stays of 2 nights minimum. The 45-hectare park allows you to enjoy a varied nature between meadows and forests in the charming little Escotais valley.
Located in the heart of the park of Château d'Hodebert, this detached house is the perfect sanctuary to relax, visit the Loire châteaux and enjoy the surrounding nature. The villa is equally pleasant in summer and winter.

Our philosophy: furnishing a house as if it was meant for our friends, our extended family, or simply for us.

La maison de la grille in the heart of the Hodebert castle park is the ideal place to spend your winter or summer weekends but also your holidays throughout the year. This small house designed for a maximum of 4 people has the charm of the old days while being very comfortable. It is perfect for a couple or a family with 2 children. Situated between the Loire and the Loir, you will be able to discover the castles of the Loir and the Loire, the cellars and vineyards, the antique dealers. You will also be delighted by the good restaurants of Tours and Sarthe! For large families or friends, possibility to be up to 12 people by renting the stable house ( 8 people) located at the entrance of the property and even 18 by booking our 3 guest rooms.

Geweldig sfeervol huis op toplocatie

Het huis is de voormalige poortwachterswoning bij het kasteel. Uitzicht is mooi en ruimte om huis voortreffelijk. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst , voldoende privacy. Dorp met uitstekende bakker nabij. Je moet door de ene slaapruimtes om op de andere te komen, en slaapruimtes hebben lage balken, wel gecapittonneerd deels , dat vraagt op tijd bukken. Maar al met al een heel erg mooi en leuk huis.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus im Park des Chateaus! Das Haus liegt etwas abseits vom Chateau und bietet damit ein gute Privatsphäre, so dass man auch ungestört auf der Wiese neben dem Haus die Sonne genießen kann. Gut ausgestattete Küche, nette Vermieterin. Ein Stern weniger, da es sich bei einem Schlafzimmer um ein Durchgangszimmer handelt und die Deckenhöhe in den Schlafzimmern niedrig ist, so dass man nur in der Mitte stehen kann. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen!

Words cannot describe the extraordinary location of this chateau , we stayed in the guardian 'house , which is close to the front grilled gate , for 7 nights.... and it was instantly back to the 15 th century....we were left plenty of wood for the daily fire , and that was the icing on the cake , it is clean , remote , in the middle of a chateau's ground , and the host is fabulous....what more could one even imagine......thank you so much for the hospitality...we will be back at the end of our tour

Bijzondere ervaring.

We hebben een fijne week gehad in het poortwachtersgebouw van chateau Hodebert. Het is een mooi mega groot terrein met paarden, ezels en koeien. S ochtends lopen er hazen door het veld en s avonds hebben we herten gespot voor de deur. Onze zoon van 7 vond het een walhalla. We waande ons even een jonkvrouw en jonkheer. Het huis is wel een uur rijden van bijna alle noemenswaardige bezienswaardigden in de buurt. Maar verder een heel speciaal plekje.

Unique location!

The gatekeepers cottage is located at a beautiful property. We enjoyed walking around the property very much, specifically the evening walks through the castle gardens. The owners were kind and welcoming and solved issues adequately and rapidly. Having a nice swimming pool just down the hill was great for our little children. We thank the owners for sharing their beautiful place with us.

Lovely little house on a superb location

We stayed for a week with our two children in the gate house. Superb location where the kids can play outside and discover all of hodebert. Good location from where you can explore wonderful castles in the loire valley. Ivana is very friendly. We had a superb week.

Early Autumn Break

We had a lovely stay at the gate house in middle September. The property is in a very peaceful countryside location and well equipped. Most of the chateaux along the Loire Valley are within a 60 - 90 minute drive which makes it perfect for day trips. It is best suited to a family or couple, the bedrooms are upstairs under the eaves so be careful it you are on the tall side. Supermarkets a 15 minute drive and a wonderful bakery in the village 5 minutes away.

Charming property in a lovely setting

We really enjoyed our stay here, the house does have lots of character, with everything you need, and set in lovely grounds. Very peaceful and relaxing. The bakery in saint paterne racan is fantastic and there is a supermarket less than 20mins drive away to stock your cupboards. We found it a good location to explore the Loire valley from (provided you have a car). The owner was very helpful, friendly, relaxed and welcoming. Would heartily recommend this place

Wonderful base for touring the Loire Valley!

We had the pleasure of staying in the gatehouse of Château d'Hodebert for a week the end of May. It was an ideal base for exploring the wonders of the Loire Valley. The accomodations were comfortable and our hostess made sure we had everything we needed. We also enjoyed exploring the grounds of the estate and meeting many of its four-legged inhabitants (dogs, donkey, horses, cows etc..). We would certainly recommend to anyone.

Séjour fantastique

Nous avons passé un séjour merveilleux dans ce gîte de charme : la maison est décorée avec goût, elle est chaleureuse et parfaitement équipée. Elle est située à l'entrée du parc du château, avec une vue sur un pré (et des vaches !), à l'orée du bois du château. Les propriétaires sont accueillants, donnent d'excellents conseils, et sont très arrangeants. Petit plus : nous sommes venus en novembre : la maison est parfaitement chauffée et bénéficie d'une cheminée avec le bois fourni ! La région regorge de châteaux magnifiques, la campagne est très belle, notamment début novembre avec les dégradés de couleurs des arbres. Nous nous sommes empressés de recommander ce gîte à nos proches en rentrant :)
