La Petite Grange is set in its own grounds in a small peaceful hamlet. It has been lovingly renovated to a high standard and provides a comfortable and relaxing environment to enjoy the surrounding countryside and an ideal base from where you can explore all the attractions the region has to offer.

La Petite Grange is located in-between Le Mans and Tours and a few minutes away from the lovely villages of Lhomme - the capital of Jasnieres, the local white wine, and La Chartre-sur-le-Loir - famous for its connections to the 24 hour Le Mans race and it's brocantes.

The pretty cottage has a relaxing patio area overlooking the enclosed garden and field and valley behind. It's the ideal area in which to unwind during the warm weather whilst enjoying a barbecue and a glass of the local wine.

Inside, La Petite Grange is cosy and welcoming, you'll feel right at home the instant you walk through the door.

The kitchen has all that you need for your visit, whether you wish to cook up a gastronomic meal or just warm-up a pizza!

The living/dining room is very comfortable with a sofa and two armchairs in front of the woodburner (logs supplied). The TV has french channels but also a DVD player with an extensive film collection. A dining table, big enough for 6 adults overlooks the patio and garden.

Upstairs there are the two bedrooms, a double and a twin, with good quality beds, made and ready for your slumber. The modern shower room and WC is situated in-between the two bedrooms. Towels are provided as is extra linen should it be required.

There is also a wooden cot in the main room that can also act as a very small bed for a toddler. Baby equipment, changing mat, small baby bath etc are provided, as is a high chair for meal times. A travel cot is also provided.

Electricity is included in the fee, (a small contribution will be requested however for the charging of electric cars, please consult us).

The owners, Jim (English) and Ophélie (French), live next door and are readily available to provide any assistance, advice or help if you require it.

The gîte has been officially approved and rated 3 stars by the French Tourist Board.

This lovely gite met all our expectations; there wasn’t anything that we were unhappy with. Our little dog enjoyed running around in the enclosed and secure garden so she was happy. We appreciated the welcome gifts of homemade jam, wine, and the fresh eggs. It was located in a quiet area surrounded by fields and wildlife. Transport is needed to explore the pretty villages and get to the supermarkets or markets. We give a 10/10 for this property.

This was our 4th stay at the property over last decade. The property is set in a hamlet in the Jasnières vineyards. Host Jim and Ophelia are always friendly and helpful. The gite is well equipped with an outside area with bbq, table and chairs, sun loungers etc. The local area is great for walking and cycling, bikes can be hired at the tourist office in La Chartre-sur-le-Loir a couple of miles away. The Loir valley is beautiful, with a number of Chateaus, whilst much less busy than the Loire which is a 45 minute to a hour’s drive away, making the places like Amboise and Chenonceau within easy access.Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

We had a lovely stay at the gîte in the beautiful Loire Valley. The accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped, offering everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. It’s easy to see why this property has consistently brilliant reviews. The accommodation is more spacious than in the photos, it’s comfy, extremely clean with everything we could possibly need. Being in a lane with just a few other cottages, the gite is very quiet, is surrounded by its own garden and has views over Jim’s land. Where you will be entertained at breakfast by his sheep, Bee, Bop and Allula, who are adorable, along with the chickens and the copious amount of birds that frequent the garden. As we were there at Christmas we visited the Chateaux that decorate to a different Christmas theme every year. They are truly beautiful and well worth the trip. Jim is a delightful host and we cannot recommend his beautiful property enough, particularly the joy of a log fire every night in Winter. We must also mention the thoughtful touches that we had on our arrival such as homemade preserve, apple juice, subtle Christmas decorations, an lit log burner and the beautiful hand tied Christmas sprays that we found in the bedroom. I had to bring them home! This gite is a real find, book without hesitation, thank you Jim and family

Cosy cottage

We had a great stay in la petite grange. If you love nature and living in the countryside and have no fear of driving a little bit more in order to visit „bigger“ hotspots you might be right here. The house was cosy and offered everything you need to make yourself at home.

Lovely Christmas stay.

We have just came home from a week stay over Christmas. When we arrived the fire was lit and looked very homely. The little cottage had everything you need for a week stay. The walking on the old railway track was amazing. Good for walking or cycling. Can't fault the stay. Thank you.

Loved the cottage. Appreciated the welcome pack & logs for fire as well as local tips. Ideal for dogs with hard floors and large secure garden. Owners were close if needed but unobtrusive. All good.

Tres Everything!!!

I booked this over a year in advance based on location, description and reviews--La Petite Grange did not disappoint! A perfect location to explore the Loire Valley, yet tucked away from the noise. Clear skies and stars filled the nights, and songbirds in the day. A rural hideaway that would be my retirement home if I could. The gite is quaint and cozy with all you could ask for in a holiday let. Lovely hosts, nice (delicious) welcome! I had a great walk/talk with Jim as well. The walks could be endless--fields, vineyards... Super U became our favorite for supplies and fuel--close and convenient. There's just so much to appreciate!!!

A very beautiful Gite

Both Ophelia & Jim are excellent hosts and very helpful. the standard of the house is wonderful. Very well equipped and the furnishings are lovely. We had a wonderful time here during the week evidenced by how well we both slept. We happily recommend this Gite as a base for discovering the area and the lovely surroundings. The garden is a delight to sit in and enjoy a BBQ.

Relaxing and peaceful week

The Gite is located in a beautiful part of Loire with many interesting places to visit within an hours drive. The Gite is fully equipped, peaceful and enjoys wonderful countrydside views. The outdoor space is particularly beautiful. The log fire is perfect for a cozy evening with a bottle of locally produced wine. Helpful and responsive hosts. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to escape for a week of peace, natural beauty and fine cuisine.

Stayed at this amazing gite for 10 days! Everything you could possibly need the gite has ! The owners are next door and very helpful! The location is perfect peaceful and very quiet and lots of walks on your doorstep! other places like le manns tours angers are a short drive away! Shops restaurants supermarkets 10 minutes away . Myself wife son and small family dog had an amazing time. If you want peace and to unwind and relax this is the place I wouldn’t hesitate booking again nice clean tidy and well looked after gite! Thanks Jim and your wife you made our stay perfect

Lovely early autumn break

A truly warm welcome as Jim, the owner of the property, had lit the log burner for us and there was a good stock of logs for subsequent evenings. It's a delightful property, well equipped, with pretty much everything you could need. L'Homme, the nearby village has a restaurant, creperie, patisserie, boucherie and a little general store - we used them all! There is an abundant stock of leaflets and guide books at the house covering walks locally and other attractions further afield. Summer guests would be able to enjoy the garden, but we can certainly recommend this as an out of season location. It isn't easy to find somewhere that is suitable for out of season French holidays.

Bijzondere gîte in een landelijke omgeving

Het was een verrassing hoe mooi de gîte was en vooral de afgelegen ligging vonden wij een verademing. We hebben heerlijk op het terras in de tuin gezeten en genoten van de vogels. We hebben 3 x een fietstocht in de buurt gemaakt. Ook een dagje naar Le Mans was een prima keus. Wat een mooie stad. In de gîte was alles aanwezig wat je je maar wenst. Ophélie en Jim zijn fantastische eigenaren.

Jim's a Brit, Ophélie is French and their two daughters are Franglais.
We have been living in France for 12 years and whilst Ophélie works in Le Mans, Jim works from home, next door to the gîte, so will always be available if any help is ever required.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property shortly after we bought our house next door. We realised straight away that it would make the perfect little gîte.

We fell in love with the area straight away. The location is great for travelling back to the UK and it has a nice mix of rurality whilst not being too far from the big towns of Tours and Le Mans.

It is a peaceful part of France but within easy driving distance of the more popular tourist areas of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley. And that's not to say there aren't plenty of things to see and do locally!

The gîte is situated in a very small hamlet and our neighbours are very friendly yet suitably discreet!
