About the host
Hosted by Jette Baker
Ashley & Jette Baker have lived in Bath since 2003. We had a life style change from living in Surrey and commuting to work to owning a B&B in Bath for the first time. Once we had successfully learnt the ropes of running a bed and breakfast and had got to know the area of Bath and its surroundings we decided to enter the self catering market. Holiday accommodation was becoming more and more popular. We started with 2 small flats in our own house and went on to buying and renovating the Bath Townhouse. Dividing into 2 flats for groups. We love Bath - it's a beautiful city with so much on offer. The surrounding countryside and the Cotswolds are on our doorstep so you get the best of both worlds - a vibrant city and beautiful countryside.
Why they chose this property
Bath Townhouse was a pub for many years and then lay empty and unloved for a couple of years before we came along. We saw the potential of this great Georgian Townhouse which still had so many original features, loads of space and right in the centre of Bath. All the shops, bars, restaurants, museums etc right on your doorstep - we knew that our guests were going to love this property and this city as much as we do!
What makes this property unique
You will love the design of this property. It is big and spacious and although we have kept and enhanced the original features of this property - the Georgian sash windows, the cornicing, vault area, the flooring, we have fitted luxury and modern fixtures and fittings. We would call the style modern vintage !
