It has been a year with extraordinary high temperatures in Tenerife (normally the climate is warm but not as hot), and I will consider your suggestion to add an a/c unit to help with possible summer/september heatwaves in the future.

Dear John, thank you for your feedback and we are glad to hear you enjoyed the complex, sunny balcony and lovely views. We are sorry to hear some aspects did not work out for you (which we address below), as we made every effort to ensure you had the best stay, including allowing you to have a late check out free of charge. As clearly set out in the VRBO contract, while every effort is made to ensure all appliances provided are in good working order, due to the turnover of guests, this cannot always be guaranteed for logistical reasons. In your case, safe and code were working as intended. Unfortunately the previous guests had changed the code (against our instructions, as you correctly point out), therefore locking the safe. A call-out charge indeed applies for non-emergency scenarios (such as safe or appliance-related queries): this is clearly set out in the house instructions, and we explained it to you as soon as soon as you messaged us. Out of kindness, and while we are under no obligation to do so, we sent someone as soon as feasible to fix the issue, and we waived the call out fee, which we thought you would appreciate. As for the TV, you are right that the TV is Netflix-enabled, and you're free to log in using your own account (and no, we do not provide our own subscription, as every user viewing preferences are different). The TV has over 100 channels, including all the main channels you list - we are sorry (and a bit surprised) to hear you were not able to find them - it is in fact a very standard and 2022 Smart TV which no guest before you had any issue using. As for the other appliances, including the oven, these are all standard and their functioning pretty self-explanatory (e.g. the oven temperature dial is clearly to be rotated to set the temperature...). As such, we do not feel the need to provide detailed instructions for all of these. The walk from reception to the apartment is approximately 3 minutes at ‘normal’ walking pace (including the 30 stairway steps to the apartment). This is clearly set out in the VRBO property description. As you can see from all the other reviews, this is an excellent rental apartment. By definition, though, it is not a hotel: we are not able to provide immediate assistance 24/7, and send someone showing you how to operate home appliances such as a TV or an oven. Perhaps a hotel would be more suitable to your specific needs (and we would of course be happy to recommend a few for your next stay).
