ALDEA TUYA is in the heart of Barrio de Jalatlaco, one of the best neighbourhoods to experience the vibrant life of Oaxaca. Our home is perfect for a group of friends or couples, family reunions or couples looking for extra space. Enjoy traditional street parades, cafes, bars and restaurants right on our doorstep. The historic centre is also just 10-mins walk. This is our home and it has been designed with warm, friendly colours and tones to help you feel at home and relaxed during your stay.
Admire the view of the Guelaguetza Auditorium and hangout in the Yucatán hammock on our rooftop terrace, where you can see the sun set behind the mountains with a beer or mezcal. On cooler days, or at night, hang out on our rest nest under the disco ball and get cosy with a book.
We love to share our home with visitors who appreciate all things Oaxaca, design and unique details. Each room includes handmade (by Ivan) bedside tables, a bedside lamp, portable fan, desk and chair and lots of local touches. We also have plenty of closet space with coat hangers and shelves so you can fully unpack and feel at home. We provide 2 shower towels per room and hand towels in each bathroom. We change towels and linens every 3-4 days, depending on the length of your stay. For any personal items, like face cloths/towels, we recommend you bring them with you. Each room also has its own bathroom, where we provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and hand lotion.
The fast wifi reaches all corners of the house and we have connection points all around the house. A new addition to the house is a 55" LG smart TV, kitted with Netflix if you're craving a night in after exploring.
Our kitchen is equipped with a brand-new stove top, blender, kettle and coffee machine. We provide the main essentials for cooking and el Mercado de la Merced is just 10 minutes away walking where you can buy the freshest, local produce.
Before you arrive, we will send you an extensive list of recommendations to eat, drink, shop and visit in Oaxaca City and beyond. If you don't want to venture too far for a drink, the new bar/restaurant next door, Sagrado Primitivo, has an incredible array of mezcals and they have events with vinyl records at the weekend, they also offer mezcal tastings.
Please note: Our house is not child-safe. Please do not book if you have children under 12 years old.
