Sheltered between two manicured garden squares in the heart of South Kensington, Gledhow Gardens VIII has a peaceful location, just minutes from cultural heavyweights in what is otherwise known as London's Museum Quarter. A wonderful retreat for business travellers, couples, or families with older children, this bright and airy home extends over a single floor (one storey up from entrance level) to include two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a cosy light-filled sitting room and dining space, and a sleek kitchen. Here, you will also find a breakfast nook and a hot water tap, while the sitting room features a window-side desk, perfect for those working from home. Warm and inviting, the interiors are simple, elegant and clean-lined, with embellishments mostly seen in the living room, where aubergine and mushroom tones are revealed through floral floor-length drapes, a shaggy rug, comfy sofas and armchairs and artwork depicting the rolling lavender fields of Provence, by Austrian artist Gerhard Nesvadba, as well as majestic Table Mountain, by British artist Pip Todd-Warmoth. Spend quiet mornings listening to the birdsong with a cup of coffee on your bedroom balcony at the back of the home, before tucking into a spot of lunch in the sunshine on the front balcony, just off the sitting room. Should you want to head out, the South Kensington Underground Station is short ten-minute walk away, where the rest of London awaits.
