Robb was awesome with communication from start to finish. The location was great in regards to getting to town and SPAC, which we were there for! WiFi and air conditioning was a life saver! Everything we needed was there!
My family took a trip up to Saratoga for the races. Timberwolf Lodge is a short 20 minute ride to the track and a bunch of other places. Beautiful views, quiet and serene. Everything was as described on the property page. We had an absolute blast and can't wait to come again.

Thank you so much for visiting us and thank you for leaving the place in great condition...
Overall we had a great stay at the Timber Wolf Lodge Cabin. Our group stayed there for a concert in Saratoga and the ride downtown was fairly quick. The Timber Wolf Lodge was exactly as listed and has a very homey feel to it. Lake Desolation is absolutely beautiful and canoeing was a lot of fun. Would stay again! Thanks Robb!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us, glad that you enjoyed your time here and we hope to see you in the not too distant future
Photos do not do this cabin justice - it has plenty of charm and is very comfortable to spend time in. Once you figure out how to make your way in/out it is easy and quiet to live in. No dishwasher or microwave but kitchen is sufficient to support cooking and baking if you’re inclined. A great getaway.

Weekend in the woods
Stayed here to attend a concert in Saratoga Springs with friends. it's a cabin in the woods, directions were hard to follow especially late at night. GPS coordinates would have been useful. It's very cottagy, a bit dusty with insects and cobwebs. Potable water although not great water pressure in the shower. Kitchen seems to be well stocked. Wifi works well. It was too cold to go to the lake.

Hi, sorry that you had some trouble with the directions that we provided, as stated previously, GPS would not get you to the cabin, many guests have attempted to ignore our printed directions and have gotten lost. The cabin was cleaned/sanitized and inspected just prior to your check in time of 4:00, but, yes, it is a cabin in the woods, so sometimes insects/spiders tend to move quickly. Also pollen from the trees does cause a bit of dust at times.
We will check out the water pressure? No one has ever mention that, maybe the shower head needs cleaning, thanks for letting us know, we will get right on it.
Thanks for choosing to stay with us.

good
A little deceiving, you think you are right on the lake. I left the cabin cleaner than when we got there. A ton of Ants, and not relatives in the kitchen, so you had to be really careful putting food on the counter. I am glad there was ant spray because I used it several times. Overall I new it was an old cabin and it was fine for the weekend.

Some guests just do not realize that these are cabins, nor 5 star hotel rooms
The cabin is a nice place to stay, it is clean, quiet and comfortable. Kitchen has all you need to cook and plenty of room. The living room is comfortable with internet TV. Front room has dining table with view of lake. Nice deck outside with table and chairs with a gas grill. Fire pit outside is nice for evening fire. Bedrooms 2 downstairs and bed upstairs are comfortable. The lake is nice about a 5 minute walk to dock, it’s a little bit of a hill down so take small steps.
There is no dishwasher or microwave in kitchen, but hey your in a beautiful setting on a lake with woods and birds all around you its a cabin so enjoy life and relax.
Saratoga is less than 20 minutes away. There is plenty to do there with the track, dining, shops. Wineries close by also.
We will be back to stay there again. Very happy with our stay there. Nice and relaxing.

Not so desolate
The area is pretty hard to get to and the check-in process is a bit odd; they just leave the house open with the keys on the counter. The cabin is cute, but the area is pretty ugly (other than the lake) and packed with other cottages. Dogs were constantly barking and we even ran into a very rude neighbor. We didn't feel like we had much privacy; on top of that the lake is down a steep rocky path, but at least we could see the lake from the cabin.
The cabin itself is cute and mostly clean. We were told to bring our own sheets and when we were making the beds we found a bunch of mice poop. There were also plenty of bugs in the shower. For a place that seems so strict about its "cleaning fees," it left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness. It gets cold at night; the cabin is heated by a wood-burning stove (which is charming) and/or through a large propane tank. There is no microwave and the oven does not work properly. The owner seems reachable, but we hardly communicated. They also only left a "starting" amount of wood for the stove with instructions saying that if we wanted more to heat the home we would need to purchase it down the street. Watch out if you are tall - the ceiling is very low downstairs. The wifi is solid though.
Overall, the stay was poor; the location and amenities were not as advertised. Luckily, Saratoga Springs is nearby. You will need a car - Ubers/GPS won't be able to find this place.

In the infromation that was forwarded, we do say that the door will be unlocked prior to your arrival and the key will be on the counter. Not sure what is meant by "the area is pretty ugly"? there is an great view from the deck out over the lake and at the time you were there, the leaves were changing, the property is pretty private, cabin is surrounded by trees? Not sure whose dogs were barking? but if you had reached out to me, I would have found out and reported them if necessary. As stated in the information provided to you, the lake front is located down a pathway, a short 3-5 minute walk down a very gradual slope, by no means steep. Yes our policy, for the past 12 years has always been that the guests have a choice of providing own sheets and towels OR there is the option of having us peovide them at a rate of $25. per guest.(clearly stated on the rental site). This is a rustic cabin, it was cleaned just peior to your arrival, very surprised that mice/bugs had entered the cabin just prior to your arrival and make a mess? Also, cabin is heated by a propane heater in the kitchen area, electric baseboard heat in each bedroom and bathroom and a woodstove with enough wood provided foe 2-3 days. You should have contacted us if you had any problems, the toaster oven works fine and no other guest ever mentioned that the main oven did not work properly? but I will check it out now that I know that there might be a problem. All information was emailed to you 2 times in regartds to additional wood/following written directions because gps will not take you the correct way/bringing linens and towels/etc. Once again, we should have been notified of any problems and we would have responded quickly.
walk to cabin was short but down a small hill. we were traveling with a handicap person so it was difficult for him. inside of cabin was spotless and beautiful. (ceiling a little low. kept hitting my head. my mistake was not reading the description better. picture of the dock gave me the impression the cabin was on the lake. we walked down to the deck (another slippery walk) and enjoyed a lovely sunset. everything worked well in the cabin including the wi-fi. overall we enjoyed our stay
The TimberWolf Lodge was an adorable house with quaint and cozy features. The lake was warm and calm and all the people sharing the docks nearby were friendly and considerate. It was a peaceful and quiet getaway, with all the attractions we could have wanted within a short driving distance! We will definitely be back again.

Rained out!
The lodge was very cute and clean. Did not really like the location of the dock! The lake was real high and the dock wasn’t easy to get to. But for a getaway with your family it’s cute. Everything worked great! Robb very quick to respond!
The place was spotless upon arrival! Even though we weren’t rite on the water it was close enough where you could walk down easily. Only thing I would recommend would be greeted and shown the private dock and where the boats are located. A little weird walking to a different cabin being rented out and a little bit of a pain walking kayaks back and forth. But other than that definitely worth checking it out!

Did not meet expectations
I don't often write reviews but if I can help someone make a more informed choice about where to stay I feel like I should. Stayed at the cabin over a cold weekend in September. We arrived with temperature in the 40's with all the windows wide open. The three small electric heaters were not powerful enough to make the cabin a reasonable temperature until the next evening so if you stay here in the colder seasons be sure to pick up firewood on the way or be prepared to sleep the first night in your coats. The expectation that was most thoroughly off was the size of the place. This cabin must have been part of a children's camp at some point because everything was smaller than it seemed in the pictures, most notably the ceiling in the living room being about 5'9'' from the floor. If you are taller be prepared to duck whenever you move around the house. Lastly was the final price. In the description if you read thoroughly but there are some additional fees not included in the advertised price. But on top of those, a significant portion of our security deposit was not returned because the owner claimed it took their crew "3 additional hours" to clean up after us. I have stayed at many rental properties before and never once have left a place in condition that was deemed unacceptable. Having cleaned this place to my usual standards I am confident there would not have been a problem for most owners. So if you stay here, be sure to be more thorough than usual when packing up.
Giving two stars because if we knew about these things going in, it was a nice stay once the place warmed up. All appliances work great, and it was a cool little cabin with a nice view of the lake and not far from downtown Saratoga.

This is a cabin, as we clearly advertise, there is sufficient heat, we have had renters stay over an entire winter season with no problems. There are electric baseboard heaters in each of the downstairs bedrooms and the bathroom, there is also a very efficient woodstove in the living room area that will heat the entire home, and a back up propane wall heater in the kitchen. Not sure why the guset thought that the "cabin" was going to be larger? It is a 4 bedroom cabin and yes, the living room is the original restored log cabin with 6' cieling, alll other rooms have 8'+ cielings. The rates are clearly listed along with information stating that we ask that the cabin be left in same condition as found, otherwise there will be a cleaning charge. Place was left in deplorable condition. The following is some previous correspondance with this guest.
PS-Yes...I was the 1st one to look at it and immediately called the cleaning crew to come in early...what I noticed as I walked into the cabin was the strong beer oder and the sicky floors and counters, tomato sauce all over stove top & side, when the cleaning crew arrived they let me know that some of your guests slept on the beds without sheets(not sure why since you had enough) several of the comforters had to be washed/dried, floors had to be washed 2-3 times to remove the sticky beer/soda whatever?, stuff had to be removed from refrigerator and refrigerator had to be cleaned, etc...normally it takes the crew 15 minutes to look the place over and ready it for the next guests(our rates do not include cleaning fees) we asked that you leave the cabin as you found it...it did take them 3 hours to get cabin back in shape(I only charged for 2, they charge $50. per hour)...not sure what the place must have looked like before you cleaned it up???
