Another enjoyable stay at the The Old English Barn
This was our second stay at the property having spent a week there in June in glorious sunshine. This time the weather was colder but still dry and bright : the barn was beautifully warm - we did not need the log burner at all. As before the property had everything we needed, was comfortable and clean . The Christmas trees and other decorations were a nice touch. A great base for days out, long walks on the beach including seeing the baby seals at Winterton, but also lovely to just spend time in the barn relaxing.

A great weekend break
The Old English Barn is an amazing venue. The building is extremely spacious and well appointed. The location is tucked away in the Norfolk countryside, a few minutes drive from Mundesley and the sea. Note, getting there, the surrounding lanes are all single track with high hedgerows, fortunately we didn't meet a tractor coming in the opposite direction! There is space to park four cars, although one of these is not terribly obvious and relies on the neighbouring property not blocking access. Better signage would be helpful here. There is also space to park in the lane to the side of the property, although this lead to a polite, but definite note left on one windscreen asking us to move. In our case we had friends come over just for an evening. Finding alternative parking was almost impossible. More guidance should be provided here. However, inside there is a definite wow factor. There is a galleried staircase leading upstairs to three spacious, ensuite bedrooms with a fourth off the main living room downstairs. All furnishing and fittings are good quality. Downstairs the living room is so roomy we had to draw all the chairs closer together. The kitchen diner is equally spacious, with seating for ten around the table. Here we encountered some difficulty as the ceiling mounted downlighters do not light the area evenly, resulting in deep shadows over parts of the work surfaces. This was compounded by the lights in the cooker hood not working. We also found that the dishwasher kept coming up with an error code. Perhaps all appliances should be checked more frequently. All together we had a marvelous long weekend and would have liked to stay on longer. And, yes, we recommend the Old English Barn to others.

Lovely clean property with plenty of space for all the family.
The Old English Barn is a beautiful Norfolk barn conversion. The space and layout works well for a family of all ages. Lovely garden and patio area too.it was a shame it rained our entire stay so we weren’t able to make full use if it. The house was very clean and well equipped. Couple of things the fridge is tiny for a family and not very well designed, the door wouldn’t shut properly and our fruit froze as it got pushed to the back! Also blinds on the velux windows in the bedrooms would be useful , especially the children’s room as the light coming through is a disadvantage. The barn is fabulous though and we would love to return. Our thanks to the owners for letting us stay in their gorgeous home.

We have already booked to stay here again .
The Old English Barn is a wonderful place to stay : the location is peaceful with only a handful of neighbours, a fully secure garden ideal for dogs and children, and plenty of parking. The barn itself is beautiful, spotlessly clean, warm on our arrival in the pouring rain, yet cool and airy when the weather turned hot. There is plenty of space - there were 7 of us staying for the first few days with 2 dogs but only 2 of us and 1 dog for the last 3 days as the others had to go back to work but the barn was ideal regardless of numbers. Maybe a few more saucepans/serving dishes/ kitchen utensils would have been useful as we preferred to cook and eat at the barn in the evenings rather than go out to restaurants but this is a minor point as the barn had everything else we needed. There is lots to see and do in easy reach of the barn, yet you are not in the main tourist areas. We have already booked to go again in December to see what it is like in winter. Probably the best holiday home we have ever stayed in anywhere
