About this property

Azurara´s Beach Guest House

Imagine waking up to the Atlantic Ocean with a gentle sea breeze. Wake up, enjoy breakfast while gazing at the ocean, dip your toes in the sand, and take a walk along the beach—then take a dip in the saltwater pool and relax...

This is a quiet area, right on the beach. There are good restaurants and beach bars nearby. Within a 10-minute walk, you’ll find convenience stores where you can also buy fresh vegetables and fruit.
A 5-minute drive from the picturesque town of Vila do Conde, where you can find excellent restaurants to sample the local cuisine.
Azurara is a fantastic spot for surfing or paddleboarding (both on the ocean and river). There are surf schools in the village offering lessons and equipment rentals. There is a wooden boardwalk that runs along the dune ridge of the Mindelo Ornithological Reserve, perfect for seaside strolls.
In addition, it’s a 20-minute drive or a 30-minute metro ride from the city of Porto, which was named the best European destination for the second time in 2016.
There’s so much to discover and be amazed by.

The Vila do Conde Coastal Regional Protected Landscape and Mindelo Ornithological Reserve stretches along an 8.5-km-long coastline in the municipality of Vila do Conde. This area boasts a diverse range of biological and landscape features, notably an interesting and unique mosaic of habitats, such as dune ridges, rocky outcrops, wetlands, scrublands, and agricultural areas. Semi-natural and human-shaped landscapes of local and regional interest also persist here, resulting from the interaction between humans and nature. This is an emblematic area due to its pioneering role in nature conservation in Portugal, with particular emphasis on birdlife; the Mindelo Ornithological Reserve (70% of the total Protected Landscape) was established here. This coastal area is particularly important, as it is the only minimally preserved coastal zone between the Esmoriz sandbar and the Esposende coastline.
