About this property

Shepherds Hut

The Big Green Shepherds Hut is a bespoke, self contained, off grid romantic getaway break for 2 near Charlwood Village, Surrey. The Shepherd’s Hut is situated within an idyllic, secluded, private estate, positioned next to a duck pond, with views of the private woodland, open fields, and beautiful countryside.

This 100+ year old agricultural chassis/trailer was discovered in a sorry state, having been abandoned in a field on a Sussex farm in need of TLC

Having been rescued from its neglected state, the renovation process began. With big ideas, imaginative design, and sheer hard work, The Big Green Shepherd’s Hut was created. A self contained, Off Grid, quirky space. This traditional Shepherds Hut design has the added benefit of modern day living within.

The hut has a cooking hob which can be used inside or outside for those alfresco dinning summer evenings. Sitting around the picnic bench with the heat from the fire pit creating those magical moments.

Private track to the secluded hut
Parking space on the hard standing near the hut - small pull along trolley can be used to transport items
Large raised sumptuous double bed
En-suite shower and composting toilet
Belfast sink with hot running water
Log burning fire
Electric lighting inside the hut
Solar lighting within the trees

Please also be aware that due to the fact that The Big Green Shepherds Hut is totally off grid we can only cater for guests for a maximum 4 day/night duration

The Shepherd’s Hut is also close to Gatwick Airport which has the potential of being an excellent pre/post romantic stopover, to really extend your romantic break.

Hiya Everyone. I’m Rob the owner/host of The Big Green Shepherd’s Hut. From my own personal love of the great outdoors/camping I wanted to create a space which would allow friends/family and guests to experience the off grid, self contained, Glamping living experience. I have been so lucky in finding this countryside spot. Next to a lake/pond, opening fields (with grazing animals), woodland and village all within walking distance. From working & living in nearby Brighton this outdoor escape/getaway is amazing to run away from the hustle & bustle of city life.

Why they chose this property

Experiencing Shepherds Hut living is a must. The off grid, secluded, tranquil, Glamping getaway to share with Family & friends

What makes this property unique

Amazing views of pond, woods and surrounding fields.
