Patio with garden furniture. Parking for 2 cars. Visit England 3 Star, Visit Britain Gold awarded property... Situated in the grounds of Seaton Hall, a working farm. Steeped in history, this former shepherds cottage fell into dilapidation but is now restored and renovated into a charming self catering cottage. Originally a 13th Century Benedictine nunnery Seaton Hall was demolished by Henry VIII under the dissolution of the monasteries and rebuilt in the 16th Century. One gable end of the monastery survives to this day and is a scheduled ancient monument. There are footpaths through the grounds to walk the dog, with more great walking in Eskdale and Wasdale. Within a two mile radius you will discover Bootle village, with shop, Millstones cafe, The Brown Cow pub and a sand and shingle beach. Local visitor attractions include ’La’al Ratty’ miniature railway, Muncaster Castle, a wildlife Park and Hodbarrow Nature Reserve. The picturesque villages of Broughton in Furness and Ravenglass are nearby, each have a selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. You can hop on the train at Bootle Station and enjoy the beautiful coastal trip to the historic port of Whitehaven. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

If you want something off the beaten track and to use as a base to relax in the evening then this is the place for you Nestled on a working farm its an ideal place to unwindThe house has everything you need from hairdryer to an iron, from a fully utilised kitchen to board games for the eveningWe loved this place Don’t forget to stop and get some logs for the wood burner as it’s a must
