Unique Scottish Country House belonging to one of the most beautiful "Arts and crafts Houses"

The Kellas House was built in 1916 in a carefully selected location on Kellas Estate. The house is one of the most beautiful "Arts and crafts houses" in Scotland, an example of architectural craftsmanship. Kellas House offers enough space for 4- 17 people. The attractive and spacious living room with fireplace, conservatory and large dining room, which can also be used for meetings, invite you to relax and enjoy yourself.
The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with every comfort.
There are eight double bedrooms, with separate beds, and one single bedroom. All rooms have their own shower, toilet and / or bath.
There is also a possibility to rent the nearby Kellas Lodge. On our site you will find a separate page with lots of photos and a good description. If you want to rent the Lodge there, it offers you two bedrooms with two separate beds each.
Full catering and also housekeeping is possible at Kellas House. Our team is then entirely at your disposal.
We do not allow stag / hen parties or dogs at Kellas House.

Great for a large group

Kellas was a lovely house that was very comfortable for our family gathering. The grounds are beautiful and there were plenty of gathering places to eat, play games and relax. While the location is rural, it is located within easy distance to Inverness, Cairngorms National Park and the northern coast. We would definitely choose Kellas House again!

A magical stay in the heart of Scotland

Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay at the Kellas Estate. The estate house and grounds are incredibly beautiful. This spacious house was very clean, beds are comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed. Vivianne and Gillian were fantastic hosts and Chef Alister created a memorable evening. If you are looking for something truly special for a large group, Kellas House does not disappoint! Thank you so much for taking care of us. It was a magical stay!

Wonderful country estate

We had a group of nine golfers staying at Kellas House and we all had a brilliant experience. The home is spectacular. It’s a beautiful setting and the accommodations were comfortable in all respects. We took advantage of the in house meal plan and had top shelf meals and service every day. The owners could not have been more accommodating and helpful. We are all very thankful to Vivienne and her team for making our stay a very rewarding and memorable experience.

Fantastic family get-together

We had a wonderful time at Kellas House. It was extremely relaxed and comfortable with spacious rooms ideal for relaxing, playing board games etc. The bedrooms were also extremely comfortable and the kitchen was so well equipped that cooking for 12 was easy and the large dining room table made mealtimes a pleasure. The trampoline was a huge success with the children who also enjoyed playing games in the extensive grounds. The owner Vivienne was extremely helpful and responded very quickly to any enquiries and requests for information. We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone seeking to book quality accomodation for a large group.

Enjoyed our stay but it did have its challenges

Pros 1. House was very clean- really clean. 2. Enough room for 17 people to spread out and relax, including the teenagers. There were some rooms that we rarely used. 3. Back garden was wonderful for coffee and breakfast. There was a table with chairs and two picnic tables so there was enough room for everyone to sit together. 4. Every room has its own bathroom- some en-suite, some not- but no one had to share. 5. Owen, who does the clay pigeon shoot, was fantastic. 6. The billiards room was used a lot. 7.The grounds had some nice walks around it. 8. The back stairs were really handy. Cons 1. One bedroom, Schoolbank, and the dressing room and bathroom for Tommy Young smelled of cigarette smoke. It was particularly bad on hot days. 2. The check out time is 10 AM and you need to have all the dishes washed and put away and all the garbage out by then or there is a charge. For the price, I just want to gather my belongings and leave. She did send a message after everything was cleaned up that we could just load the dishwasher and leave. 3. The first time we had a 3 AM alarm, Vivienne told me that I should have called her and she would have addressed it. When we had a new 3 AM alarm , I called her and messaged as requested. I stayed awake waiting waiting for a new message/return call, which came at 06:45. The first alarm was for a massive water leak so naturally, we were concerned. Summary: Part of our stay was wonderful. Part of our stay was very stressful for some.

Scottish Shooting & Fishing Lodge

Kellas house is a Scottish gem - tartan, shooting, hunting, fishing, walking, sightseeing, a true taste of scotland. We were all delighted with the lodge, splendid dining, sitting room and conservatory, smoking room and boot rooms, all the bedrooms were large, comfortable beds and en-suite. We would highly recommend.

The best stay in the Highlands

I booked this property for a large group of friends (17 people). The estate exceeded our expectations in every way. The interiors of all rooms are well kept and create a homey atmosphere. The maison is equipped with everything needed for cooking, serving, relaxing. The owners also organised a clay pigeon shooting session for us. This was great fun and I highly recommend to anyone visiting to do the same. The grounds of the estate are very large and many walks around the estate are possible and worth it. We are looking forward to being back!

Wij verbleven een lang weekend in de Kellas Gate lodge, een ontzettend knus huisje, dat bij de ingang van het landgoed staat. Wat hebben we genoten! Zodra we de lodge binnenstapten, voelden we ons direct thuis door de donkere, warme inrichting en de gashaard. Daarnaast zorgde een volledig uitgeruste keuken (inclusief basis keukenproducten zoals kruiden, olijfolie, etc) dat we veel tijd doorgebracht hebben in de lodge. De omgeving is geweldig: een oase van rust, met alleen het geluid van een kabbelend beekje en fluitende vogels. Dit doet je thuis even helemaal vergeten. In de nabije omgeving kan je wandelen en vissen en binnen een half uur ben je bij dorpjes waar zich restaurants en winkels bevinden. Al met al een perfecte locatie om in alle rust van het prachtige Schotland te genieten, terwijl je je helemaal thuis voelt. Een echte aanrader!

Ervaring in Kellas

Een prachtig huis in een prachtige omgeving. Het huis ademt een warme en knusse sfeer, is zeer comfortabel en gezellig ingericht en biedt voldoende privacy voor een ieder. Er zijn volop mogelijkheden om te wandelen, alsook zijn er verschillende kastelen in de omgeving die het waard zijn te bezoeken. In de avonduren is het goed toeven bij de open haard. Een fantastisch huis voor een bijeenkomst van familie en/of vrienden. Van harte aanbevolen!!!!!

Superhuis

Wij hebben hier met vrienden oud en nieuw gevierd. We vonden het een erg prettig huis. Bij binnenkomst voel je direct de rust en ruimte. Het huis is met zorg ingericht en zeer schoon. Wij zaten met 4 gezinnen in dit huis. 's Ochtends gezamenlijk ontbijten en dan de plannen voor die dag doornemen. We hebben kleiduiven geschoten, kampvuurtje gemaakt en marshmallows geroosterd. 's Avonds een boek lezen bij de open haard of gezellig kletsen. In de omgeving is genoeg te doen. Een fort of een whiskystokerij bezoeken. Het meer van Loch Ness is de moeite waard, het is even een stukje rijden, maar zeker aan te raden. Al met al zeer de moeite waard, hoop hier zeker nog een keer terug te komen!

Een sprookje

Wat een andere wereld, wat een sprookje! Even eruit gaan is voor iedereen een feest, maar hier ben je echt op een andere wereld en wat voor een! Een geweldig huis met alles erop en eraan. Hier kom je echt tot rust! En de natuur. Je weet niet wat je ziet. Wij waren hier met onze hele familie en iedereen had een heerlijke, ruime kamer en badkamer. Er werd fantastisch voor ons gekookt en elke dag was er wat te beleven. Savonds een borrel bij de open haard en de verhalen van de dag nog eens bespreken. Een ideale locatie voor grote groepen maar ook met alleen je familie. Om er echt even uit te zijn, om van de natuur te genieten. Je komt als een ander mens terug. Wij gaan hier zeker vaker heen!

Fantastisch huis

Men bereikt dit prachtige Schots landhuis, in de Schots baronial stijl, via een lange oprijlaan met grote rhododendrons aan beide kanten. Gelegen net boven het kleine dorpje Kellas heeft het wijd uitzicht over de grouse moors. Er heerst rust en stilte. Het was heel goed verzorgd, mooi ingericht, en zeer comfortabel. We hadden een plaatselijke kok, die heerlijke maaltijden voor ons verzorgden, zo het was echt vakantie. Fantastische natuur, met de mogelijkheid te vissen en jagen (in het seizoen natuurlijk) en golfen en heerlijk wandelen. Wij hebben geen restaurants gebruikt, dus daar kan ik niet over oordelen. Het dichts bijzijnde stadje is Elgin, daar is niet veel te doen, maar men kan alles krijgen wat er nodig is en er is ook een mooie winkel om cashmere te kopen. Voor een wat meer upmarket shopping experience zou ik Inverness aanraden. Er zijn in de buurt mooie oude kastelen en huizen te bezoeken met prachtige tuinen waar men meer kan leren over de geschiedenis van dit fascinerend land. Ik kan Kellas aan een ieder aanraden en omdat er zoveel en-suite kamers zijn, is dit ideaal voor een familie of/en vrienden bijeenkomst/ reünie. Er is voor iedereen wel wat te doen, al is het enkel om in de mooie serre te zitten en van het uitzicht en een boek te genieten. (en een glaasje Whiskey!) Happy Holidays
