Whether it is a lazy stay or an active holiday, this luxurious apartment in the heart of Chamonix is ideal for all kinds of escapes!

Located on the first floor of a historic building, this fully renovated retreat is spread over two floors and features a lovely balcony overlooking the town centre of Chamonix.

Internally, it has 3 bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with modern utilities that provide an effortless self-catering stay for 7 guests. There is a beautiful and spacious living room built with all-wood furniture and featuring a traditional Savoyard-style dining setup. There is also a Smart TV, PS4 with games, large sofas, and an open kitchen that further completes the classy, mountain-style living space. In the kitchen, guests have access to modern utilities that make your stay here absolutely hassle-free and completely enjoyable. These include a dishwasher, oven,and toaster, among others.

Ski storage is also available, so it is not allowed to bring skis/snowboards inside the apartment. Please note that the property is suitable for 7 adults only and a child.

1) The entrance to the property is under surveillance 24 hours a day. So, don\'t forget to lock the front door and smile, you are being filmed.
2) Pets are not allowed and non-compliance will lead to an immediate halt on your stay.
3) Be careful with the light and the heating. This is a smart house and if you leave the light and heating on for too long, they will turn off automatically.
4) The apartment is antique and made of wood. Therefore, candles and other items that can catch fire are not allowed.

Location

The mountain-view apartment enjoys an enviable location in Chamonix, with amenities all around and the ski lifts close at hand. Within a 10-minute walk, guests can access Le Brevent ski lift, train station Aiguille du Midi, a plethora of restaurants, and most of Chamonix’s iconic landmarks including Gare du Montenvers, a typical funicular. By taking this funicular guests can also visit the most breathtaking locations of Mer de Glace and Grotto de Glace. Beyond skiing, hiking and nature enthusiasts will also find this apartment a convenient base as Lac des Gaillands and Montblanc-Loisirs are just a 7-minute drive from here. Meanwhile, day trips to Argentière, thermal spas of Saint Gervais and Parc de Merlet can also easily be taken from here within a 15-30 minute drive.


A supermarket and ski rental are also a few minutes walk away and make the apartment an efficient self-catered stay. The nearest international airport is Geneva airport, approximately a 1 hour and 10 minutes car ride from this holiday apartment in Chamonix.

First winter ski trip in Chamonix
The property is in very good condition and very clean. It looks newly remodeled with a combination of modern and rustic. Good size for 6 adults. Great location for town center and bus stops to skiing. The house is wired as a smart house and has a few minor issues. Lights going up the stairs are on a motion detector so they turn on when you start up or down the stairs, but turn off when you get half way so you are in the dark the rest of the way. Lights in all the rooms were difficult to turn on and off due to complicated switches. There were instruction signs next to every switch but in the dark you cannot read the signs. Biggest complaint was the heating system. The thermostat was locked so we could not change the temperature. The bedrooms were too hot so very difficult to sleep and we had to open windows in the winter to be able to sleep. I sent multiple emails to the property management company (Happy Rentals) about the problem, and they did not respond. They were not open before we left for skiing or after we returned from skiing, so we were unable to call. The check in process was difficult because you had to go try to find the property management office in a different area of the city at night when you arrived to get the keys out of a safe. I would highly recommend this property if it was with a different property management company.

Beautiful place, the front stairs are nuts.
The property is lovely. I felt relaxed and well rested during my stay. The location is outstanding. It does get a bit loud, even with the double windows, by the location can’t be beat. The rooms are ample sized and the bathrooms have good fixtures. It looks rustic, but it functions modern. Of note, the water pressure is fantastic and the beds are comfortable. It is a smart house which can take a bit of getting used to, and you have no control over the temperature. The rooms got quite hot at night. The Wi-Fi was adequate, but not great. Lastly, the management company was great to deal with. Four things that were a less than ideal. First, the main bedroom is right in front of a bar, which stays active until well after 12am. Second, the pillows are beaten up ikea garbage. Really. I mean horrible. I wish I had brought a pillow, it was that bad. Third, getting the keys and returning the keys was a hassle. To the point where I would not stay there again. It is a 15 minute walk from the property. If you are walking, make sure you understand this. We took a taxi from Geneva but left on the bus. The bus station is very close to the business office, but around 1.5k from the location. Last, the stairs up to the front door are steep, narrow, and get wet/icy. It was not fun carrying luggage up to the door and skis would be a bigger hassle.
