Welcome to our home in Spain. Casa Cerca del Sol is a modern well equipped villa with private pool and hot tub. It stands in 4500 sq metres of private rural grounds, in a quiet and secluded position but just a short drive away from the pretty white washed village of Competa with its fine selection of shops, bars and restaurants.

The terrace offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, particularly Mount Maroma the highest mountain in the Axarquia at 2,065m, the Sierra Almiljara mountains and across the verdant countryside down to the Mediterranean Sea. On a clear day one may just catch sight of Gibraltar or the Riff mountains of North Africa on the horizon.

Access is via tarmac and concrete roads and is approx. 1 hour 20 minutes from Malaga airport and 25 minutes from a number of beach’s, Aquavelis Water Park , El Ingenio shopping mall and the Baveria golf course. It provides the ideal location to discover the surrounding areas of the Mediterranean coast to 'The Alhambra' in Granada, the Sierras with its ski slopes; or just to relax and sample local Spanish life and enjoy the great outdoors with horse riding, hiking/biking trails and mountain biking.

La Cueva de Nerja is only 35 minutes away and has one of the largest caves in Europe with amazing stalactites, known as the 'Cathedral of the Paleolithic. Nerja itself is a vibrant but Spanish sea side town full of shops, cafes and bars

The Villa is provided with a well equipped modern kitchen complete with integrated appliances, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, large lounge/dining room with internet, WiFi and satellite TV. For early or late season guests there is gas heating with radiators and a log burner.

The terrace is set off with an 8m x 4m freeform pool with gentle roman step which is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days, a hot tub, covered outside kitchen BBQ area , table tennis and pool beds.

Excellent property

The first thing we saw when reaching the villa was the astonishing view. Simply breathtaking. The villa was very clean and tidy and well laid out. All the furnishings and equipment were very good quality. The pool and outside area were superb. We spent many hours out there in the sun. The outside kitchen was an added bonus. David (the owner) was extremely helpful and accommodating and very quick to respond to any queries we had. Roberto (the property manager) was friendly and had a great local knowledge and was able to give good advice on places to visit. Overall it was probably the best Villa holiday we’ve had. We will definitely be returning.
