About this property
Host & Stay | Rose Cottage
Summary:
Rose Cottage is a traditional property located in central Stokesley. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, Rose Cottage is perfect for families and groups of friends looking for a pleasant break in the heart of North Yorkshire. You’re ideally located to explore the North Yorkshire moors, as well as having quick access to local towns and villages.
The Space:
There is plenty of space to relax at Rose Cottage, with two living rooms being available to guests. Both rooms have a very homely feel to them with comfy sofas in both, as well as armchairs. You’ll find a flat-screen TV in the main living area.
To the rear of the main living room is where you’ll find Rose Cottage’s dining area. This bright room has a dining table with sufficient seating for you and your guests. You’ll also have access to outside space.
Head to the kitchen and you’ll find everything you need to make the most of your self-catering stay. With an oven, hobs, microwave, kettle and toaster available, you’ll be well-equipped.
Head upstairs and you’ll find the three spacious bedrooms that Rose Cottage has to offer. The master bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed made up with premium bed linens to ensure you have the best night’s sleep possible. There is conveniently an en-suite available for your use.
The second bedroom at Rose Cottage is a double, and the third room has two single beds. Yet again, the beds are made up using premium bed linens to provide great comfort for you and your guests.
The family bathroom at the cottage has a bathtub with overhead shower, a wash basin and a WC.
Outside is a secure enclosed back yard, ideal for letting your children and four-legged friends enjoy the fresh air during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. Details of how to access the property will be emailed out to guests seven days prior to arrival.
Please note that all bedrooms at Rose Cottage are located on the first floor of the building.
Please note that due to the nature of the property, there are some steps leading into the bedrooms.
The Neighborhood:
This pretty town is well known for its Friday food, flower and craft markets, and farmers' markets on the first Saturday of each month. Stokesley Agricultural Show is held every year on the third Saturday in September, attracting visitors from all over the country. With everything from dog shows to handicrafts and delicious local delicacies on offer, it's well worth a visit.
Stroll to the east end of the town for a spectacular view of Roseberry Topping and the North York Moors, and admire the ancient mill wheel that resides there. Then, just a few yards away, discover a panorama of buildings and open spaces as you enter the town centre. From here, you can explore Stokesley Manor House at the eastern end of Market Square, and discover the Church of St Peter and Paul, with its famous mouse woodwork carved by the "Mouseman" of Kilburn!
Many quality independent shops create a friendly lively experience for those who regularly visit the town or for newcomers seeing what is on offer for the very first time. The market Place would still be familiar to Captain Cook, Yorkshire’s famous son should he be visiting today.
Small snickets reveal other businesses including teashops, gifts, home furnishings and other hidden gems.
Getting Around:
Stokesley is served by the Arriva North East service 28a from Middlesbrough every hour and the 81 from Marske Estate every hour. Abbott's of Leeming run services 80/89, which run every two hours. The services operate six days a week towards Northallerton and Romanby via Osmotherley.
