About this property
Graziers Cottage. Period charm, modern comfort, inglenook, parking, pub
Graziers Cottage is a beautiful Grade II Listed traditional cottage built 300 years ago from the famous Cotswold honey-coloured stone.
We fully refurbished the cottage in 2018, and now it has everything necessary for modern living which seamlessly blends with traditional character. We carefully preserved all the original beams, flagstone floors, mullion windows, exposed stone walls, the massive inglenook fireplace and added underfloor heating, fibre optic broadband 350 Mbps, a fully-equipped kitchen, a stunning shower room with a walk-in shower.
The cottage comfortably sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms (sorry, no pets). They are located on the first floor accessible via a staircase.
Master bedroom has a king size bed (5’0”), bedside tables, wardrobe, dressing table with hairdryer and hair straightener, smart TV with FreeView & complimentary Netflix.
Twin bedroom has 2 short single beds 90cm x 180 cm (3’0” x 6'0"), chest of drawers, vanity mirror, hairdryer, TV with Roku hub (FreeView, On Demand services, complimentary Netflix), vintage games console.
Next door to both bedrooms there is a family bathroom with a shower, vanity unit, a basin and a toilet pan.
On the ground floor, there is a fully-equipped kitchen as you enter the cottage. It has a vaulted ceiling, flagstone floors with underfloor heating, shaker-style cabinets and built-in appliances you would wish to have on holiday: dishwasher, washer-dryer, large fridge-freezer, oven and stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine.
Off the kitchen, there is a living room which features an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, a Chesterfield 3-seater sofa, a winged-back chair, a coffee table, a 42" smart TV with FreeView and Netflix, a dining table and four chairs and also an oak cabinet holding a small library.
Outside you will find a pretty manicured garden with a patio under a pergola entwined with wisteria. There is a table and chairs for you to sit down and enjoy the sun and your morning cuppa or evening G&T. The garden is fully fenced and gives you privacy and peace of mind (in case you bring little children with you).
We provide bed linen and towels, a starter supply of logs and kindling for the wood burner, and an initial supply of consumables such as sponge, j-cloth, toilet paper, kitchen roll, washing-up liquid, sugar, tea, coffee, etc.
If you are bringing young children, you'll find a high chair stored in the cabinet under the stairs. Travel cot, stair gate, and bed guard can be provided on request. Please bring your own bedding for the travel cot.
Our parking is off-street, in a communal car park which is 30 steps away from the cottage. We provide two undesignated spaces for your cars.
The Plough Inn is an award-winning pub just one minute walk from the cottage. It is a traditional country pub with rustic interiors, open fires for chilly evenings and a large beer garden for sunny afternoons. It serves British cuisine cooked from local ingredients and even game, and it has an extensive list of ales from the local Donnington Brewery. The cherry on the cake is that you don't have to drive after dinner - just walk back to the cottage!
Surrounded by a few other neighbouring cottages, Graziers is located in a small peaceful Cotswold hamlet of Ford, within a 10-minute drive from Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper and Lower Slaughters, and 15 minutes from Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway, Moreton-in-Marsh and Winchcombe. Cheltenham Racecourse is 20 minutes away, and Cheltenham town centre is 30 minutes away by car.
If you like picturesque country walks, a few are starting outside the cottage with direct access to Cotswold Way.
The cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds, whether it be visiting the charming villages, and historical sites, or taking a hike in the countryside.
If you need any help in planning your trip or advice on local services and amenities, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Warmest regards,
Anna

About the host
Hosted by Anna

I am the owner of Graziers Cottage.
I love the Cotswolds! And I love hosting, making people feel welcome and home from home.
Recently I have also discovered a passion for olde-worlde traditional English cottages.
My holiday cottage is 300-years old and Grade II Listed (quite a challenge to manage!). It is my only holiday property, and I have put all my passion and love into it.
You can find more pictures, videos and a virtual tour searching for Graziers Cottage.
I know the area extremely well and would be happy to share my knowledge with my guests, providing insights, tips and lifehacks.
Feel free to message me, I'm happy to answer any specific queries in advance.
I am married and have one child. My life passions are travelling, diving and gardening (the last one is put into practice at Graziers!).

Why they chose this property
When my husband and I first came to Ford, we were absolutely blown away by how pretty the hamlet was! From the moment we parked our car at the car park and walked down to Graziers Cottage, we felt like we were transported into a fairytale! Honey-coloured stone walls, roses and cottage flowers everywhere...
"The Plough Inn" which is within a one-minute walk is a very cosy country pub serving delicious food and a very welcome addition to anyone's holiday!
The icing on the cake is Jackdaws Castle across the road - a famous horse-racing training facility. Watching jockeys training is great fun and definitely something people don't do on an everyday basis.
