The Barn has all the facilities you need - wifi, tvs in each room, a well equiped kitchen, bbq, hairdryers, car charger and a log burner to cosy in on colder evenings . The cottage is warm and comfortable and its proximity to Bourton a definite plus. The only reason I put good instead of excellent is because the beds are not king sized as listed (as far as an American king - perhaps UK sizing is different) and although a dryer is listed as an amenity, there is only a washer w/ drying line
Escaped the crazy, and embraced peace. The Barn is a perfect place to unwind. Clean, spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Located in a quiet cul de sac in a small hamlet miles from the noise; and yet within a short drive to good pubs and country shops. This is an our second Christmas at The Barn. It’s a gem.
A girlfriend and I wanted a few days R and R. This stunning property and location fitted the bill. The beds were so comfortable!
Felt cocooned for a few days. Just what we needed.
Would recommend the property to anyone wanted to get away from it all.
Only downside was the check in process as it was dark by 4pm. We struggled to find the property despite good directions and then found we could not see very well to open the key box.
We travelled as a family group of 5 adults. Such a beautiful place to stay and a good base for exploring the area. The Barn had everything we needed and was clean and warm with comfortable beds! Thank you a wonderful break and we would highly recommend.
I stayed here with a friend for 4 nights - we were exploring the Cotswold's area. The Barn is a delightful place to stay and much impressed my American visitor. It is exquisitely furnished with many lovely touches and is clean as clean can be. The host was responsive and access was easy. The heating worked and the beds were so comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here. It is a small quiet village, but easy access (by car) to all Cotswold towns and villages. A gift for walkers - access to many paths from the house. Thank you Janey for sharing this wonderful property.
A short, two night, break at The Barn was very homely and relaxing. The weather didn’t behave but that didn’t dampen a lovely and welcoming stay.
The host was first class with communication which is always a bonus. Highly recommend this property.
A great location, perfect for exploring the local area. The property itself is stunning and thoroughly recommended. Thank you Janey.

It was literally a privilege to stay here. The pictures don’t do the property justice. Comfortable, homey, had everything you could possibly want, attention to detail was extraordinary, comfortable rooms and beds, spacious, immaculate kitchens living area, beautifully manicured lawns and orchard. Honestly, the photos don’t do this property justice. We will absolutely book here again. Lovely 40 min walk through fields into bourton on the water, an easy car ride to visit nearby villages and restaurants. Only hiccup was finding the property once we reached the intersection coming in a different way, but was simple enough given how small the village center is :). Incredibly relaxing stay, we are filled with gratitude.
The Barn is nestled in a quiet Cotswold community away from the more tourist-heavy towns. All the amenities are present. The property is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and allows for off-street parking behind a gate. We would definitely choose the Barn should we again decide to visit the Cotswolds area. There are plenty of places to explore off the main roads, (which we felt were too narrow for the allowed speed of 60 MPH, so we kept to about 30 when driving the area, as people are walking dogs and wildlife is often present). While exploring, we found the view of neighboring farms to be spectacular, and bought fresh eggs and honey from roadside stands. It's about a 10 minute drive from the Barn to larger communities for dinner, shopping, etc. A truly perfect place!!
Janey’s place is a gorgeous place to stay, a stunning area of the Cotswolds and ideal for groups that have their own transport. Lovely garden area to sit and enjoy the long warm evenings with a glass of wine. Bedrooms were nice and spacious and the Orchard End snug was really cosy and spacious enough for two. Surrounding area is beautiful however you need transport to get anywhere as there isn’t anything to do in Clapton-on-the-Hill. Burton on the Water is a short drive away, should you prefer a taxi a people carrier for 6 people will cost you £35 - £40 per journey. Walking into Burton on the Water will take you approx. 45 mins across the fields, it is a really enjoyable walk. We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived and had a great weekend. Janey is a superb host and responds to any queries promptly. We would highly recommend Janey’s place for a visit to the Cotswolds.
We were so pleased to settle in this gorgeous home for our four day stay.
Everything we needed was provided. The beds were the most comfortable we had slept in during our five week UK trip.
The house was impeccably clean and spacious.
I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a stay in the Cotswold.

Lovely character property. Nice open plan living with enough comfortable seating for the 5 of us and a good size dining table and chairs. Kitchen is a good size with everything you need and a big refrigerator / freezer. Good size 2 double bedrooms and the 3rd double bedroom in the shepherds hut is unique and was comfortable and warm even in a huge thunder storm. Good off road parking. Really enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely stay at janey‘a place, location is great, quiet, also close to burton on the water. Place is spacious, clean, very stylist. janey Is also very responsive and helpful. This is our second time staying here and we will come back again!
Brilliant stay in a beautifully kept converted barn. It could do with a bit of a deep clean but overall a great stay in a great location to explore some beautiful places. Thank you!
My family and I were looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay in the Cotswolds and this ticked every box for us. The property was like a setting out of a movie. The house was perfect, well laid out and well kept. Every appliance you may need (including a clothes washer, no dryer though) was included. It can’t really stress how cool this house was and how beautiful the grounds are. My oldest son slept in the “shepherds hut” and loved it. The small village didn’t have any restaurants or pubs but that leant to the quiet and peacefulness of the setting. There are walking paths nearby and you can get to Bourton on the water (you have to spend some time here), Stow on the Wild, Upper and Lower Slaughter (Lower Slaughter almost doesn’t seem real) and easily. It really was a perfect location for us to explore. We didn’t spend much time at the house because we were out exploring but it f we ever get the chance we will definitely be back. Can’t say enough about this place. Don’t hesitate, just book it today!!
This is the picture postcard Cotswold experience. Staying in a rustic converted barn, with a cottage style garden, overlooking the rolling hills and fields. We had the best time in a beautifully kept property.
I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Rooms are spacious and modern. Technology is great and you have everything you need for the perfect experience.
We have a lovely stay at the Barn. Contrary to a previous review, we found it to be very clean and comfortable. It is set in a pittoresque and quiet hamlet, yet close to towns and attractions.
