Well Cottage is a unique detached 16 century Cotswold stone Jacobean cottage with original features capturing the character and charm of a truly authentic experience in a peaceful and relaxing environment.
Well Cottage offers modern conveniences including WiFi, USB points and central heating. Furnished to a high standard with carefully chosen antiques, a comfortable fabric English sofa, wing back chairs and Afghan carpets, its a delight in itself!
Based in the Heart of Bourton on the Water on a quiet cul-de sac within 2 mins walk to the River Windrush, yet still maintaining its privacy. You will have your very own driveway to park your car and won't have to worry about trying to find a parking spot on the street (We have double Yellow lines outside the house so that no one else can park in front of the house).
Well Cottage is well proportioned with good sized bedrooms and has been lovingly restored with its original beamed ceilings throughout and boasts an authentic large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove.
The Cottage Garden is set around an original 16th Century Jacobean well and offers many varieties of flowers from Iris' in May, Lavender, herbs and many rose bushes. All the Artwork has been chosen to show off some of the local Cotswold talent. The upstairs is carpeted throughout and has high quality bedlinen and English Towels.
We have been a long established business of more than 20 years, we do not have a middle man to run this business, you will be talking to the owners of the cottage and not an agent and our reviews are a testament to the the love and care given to the cottage for you to enjoy a truly wonderful experience in what we think is a little gem. Thank you for reading this, we look forward to hosting you!
You will love it!

Well Cottage is owned by my Mum, Bette. Both my Mum and I run Well Cottage as a business and enjoy sharing this property with others. We love the fact that Well Cottage is an unusual and unique property which has not 'not had its heart removed giving guests a truly authentic experience of modern meeting 16th Century. Once in the cottage you will feel its charm and feel its the peace of time in this detached cottage with an original Well in the Garden and having so much history and character attached to it. It was a "gem of a find" when my Mum and Dad originally bought it back in 1994 and we will never want to sell it!

Why they chose this property

Bourton on the water has so much in itself to offer with its river and beautiful bridges, many boutique style shops, antiques, perfumery and lovely cafe's and restaurants - all within a 2 min walk. Attractions are Birdland, Motor Museum, The Model Village, Hawkstone Brewery and the wonderful Greystones Farm Nature Reserve to walk through. There are many trails around the village to enjoy leading you to other villages nearby such as The Slaughters. The following are some of the headings taken from our reviews over the years: "perfect location within Bourton on the Water", "Lovely quiet cottage", "Beautiful cottage", "Absolutely enchanting", "worth every penny", "loved this cottage, sad to leave", "Well appointed cottage, quiet and peaceful in a picturesque setting"..................and many more.

What makes this property unique

This is a unique cottage because it is one of the oldest detached cottages in the village which has managed to retain its original features and even has a well in the garden which would have been used by local farm hands when Bourton on the Water was mostly farm land.
