We had an amazing stay for our visit to the Cotswolds. Friendly and helpful house manager. Perfect location central to all the top rated villages and touring. Would definitely book here in the future.
This cottage/granary was amazing, even better than the photos. It was spacious and clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The location is great for exploring the Cotswolds and the hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful property. Great location for touring the Cotswolds. Easy check in process. Owners were very easy to work with and communication was very prompt. Highly recommend this property!

Thank you for staying and we are delighted that you enjoyed The Granary so much. Hopefully you will return before too long.
We came for a short (unfortunately) stay at the Granary. It's a lovely old building that has been updated nicely. A great, rural location with a lovely garden and sheep & horses to visit down the lane. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Fantastic private property, with so much character and charm
We couldn't recommend this property more highly. Very clean, spacious and in a great location. Lots of lovely little touches that made our stay so welcoming. Great for families as there is a lot of space in the open planned living areas. Jonny was a great host and extremely welcoming. The main property and gardens are beautiful, we look forward to coming back!
Lovely spacious cottage with everything you need. Location is great. Rural of course, but great for dogs and with shops and towns like Bourton and Stow within easy reach. Because it was winter and raining a lot, we spent a lot of time indoors and we felt very much at home.
My family had a wonderful stay at the Granary, which was perfectly located to enjoy the Cotswolds for a short winter break. The property is located on a beautiful estate close to the village of Naunton. It is well maintained, clean, warm, cosy, spacious and very well equipped with everything one could possibly need, including the lovely open fire. Our hosts were welcoming, charming and accommodating. Thank you for a pleasurable stay. We would love to visit again to enjoy the area in spring or summer.

Beautiful and spacious cottage with fully stocked kitchen that fit our family of four perfectly. Warm and welcoming hosts. Welcome package and guides were appreciated. Close to several activities / attractions across Cotswolds and within ten minutes of a grocery store. Kids had a blast playing in the lovely gardens and playing fetch with the friendly dog. We would absolutely return should we ever find ourselves in the Cotswolds again, and would recommend this stay to everyone.

The granary itself is enormous, lots of space for the children to run around and play. It was very useful for the property to have a second bathroom with a bath with a door to the twin room which could be locked if needed.
A warm welcome from the host and a surprise basket of local wine & chocolates was a nice touch for New Year.
The property had everything we needed for a short stay in the Cotswolds and is a convenient place to either relax for a few days or use as a jumping off point to explore the local area.
We would stay here again.
Thank you for having us.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Granary and hopefully will see you again before too long.
Jo and Johnny Ireland are tremendous hosts who are kind, thoughtful and generous. They showed great concern that we were all comfortable and made sure that we had what we needed. The Granary is a lovely, old building that has been very thoughtfully designed and well equipped. We were very comfortable and made welcome. The gardens of the manor, surrounding fields with the animals, the staff and the countryside were wonderful. If you are looking for comfort, peace and a healthy break, Aylworth Manor should top your list of locations. A beautiful place run by fabulous people.

Long weekend stay
Beautiful Granary, but will not be staying again as the host Jo was not friendly at all. Feel like you are being watched all the time as they live opposite. Jo was sneakily taking photos of us from behind the door of her catering van! A complete lack of privacy and made us feel really uncomfortable, ultimately ruining our stay. Beds uncomfortable and lots of dust/cobwebs. Also have dogs running around barking without being watched.

You arrived with 3 dogs having booked in with 1. Our house rules allow 2 dogs. When I asked if you had 3 you said yes and they were not causing any trouble. However, it is against our house rules and that is why we were upset. When I contacted Vrbo they said they wanted photos of your dogs, which is why I took them, and explained to you whilst you were here. That is not unfriendly, we are just trying to run a safe business for everyone without being unsuitably punished.

About the host
Hosted by John & Jo Ireland
John and Jo bought Aylworth in 2002 as an ideal home to raise their family. Johnny is a dentist and works in Cheltenham, Jo worked in the city before 'retiring' to the country. They spend their time running the farm and looking after their guests and animals. As well as the Self Catering cottage Jo runs a bed and breakfast business from the Manor, spends quite some time in the garden and an inordinate amount of time with the horses and her dogs. Their two children are now in their twenties but enjoy spending time at Aylworth often with friends.
Why they chose this property
There has been a house at Aylworth since Medieval times, infact there is a mention of it in the Domesday Book. The house is surrounded by its farmland and a small hamlet of converted farm buildings. The house and Granary were remodelled in the Georgian era and was renovated by Johnny and Jo when they bought it.
What makes this property unique
There are stunning views over the Cotswolds hills and valleys, excellent walking, the property is situated on the Windrush Way footpath. Uniquely both Johnny and Jo are committed to renewable energy and conservation and the house and Granary are powered by PV panels and a biomass boiler.
