Welcome to The Maltings, a luxurious country holiday lodge near the charming village of Nethy Bridge in the Scottish Highlands. Nestled in the heart of Cairngorms National Park, this unique retreat offers an unforgettable getaway for families, groups, and pet owners looking for relaxation and adventure.

Originally built as an oat mill in 1749, The Maltings has been lovingly renovated to create a tranquil and secluded luxury lodge while preserving its original character. With heritage features, cozy interiors, and stunning natural surroundings, it’s the perfect escape from everyday life.

Step inside and discover a beautifully designed interior with sumptuous furnishings, a wood-burning stove, and original mill features. The living space is ideal for relaxing after exploring the breathtaking Scottish Highlands.

One of the highlights is the bar area, where the original oat grinder has been transformed into a unique bar table. It's the perfect place to enjoy a dram of Speyside whisky in an authentic setting. The dining area provides a welcoming space for entertaining, creating a warm and atmospheric experience for gatherings with family and friends.

Set within two acres of private garden, The Maltings offers plenty of space to explore, relax, and enjoy the fresh Highland air. Highlights include a dedicated outdoor dining area for al fresco meals, a recently renovated log cabin summerhouse perfect for quiet moments or imaginative play for children, and a luxury hot tub allowing guests to soak in the stunning surroundings while enjoying Scotland’s ever-changing landscapes.

The Maltings comfortably accommodates up to eight guests across four beautifully designed bedrooms: a king-size bedroom with en-suite, a king-size bedroom, a double bedroom, and a twin bedroom. The lodge also features two additional bathrooms, a cloakroom WC, and a utility room with washing and drying facilities. A games area, board games, and stair gates ensure comfort and entertainment for guests of all ages.

We happily welcome two well-behaved dogs (more upon request). The enclosed garden provides a safe space for pets to roam freely, and ample parking is available for up to four cars.

Your stay at The Maltings includes heating, electricity, logs, bed linen, towels, robes, and slippers, a welcome gift, and local activity guides.

Erin
Having worked in tourism for many years, I felt now was the time to give people the sustainable choices that are increasingly important to us all. So using my extensive knowledge of the local market, I have created igloo with Nick. I understand fully the needs of owners and guests, having worked in the industry for a considerable length of time in management roles within rentals, sales and lodge services.

What I love best about the job is the customer satisfaction. Ensuring that everything is as it should be when my guests arrive and that they are kept well informed before, during and after their stay. I love it when people call and you really get a chance to get to know them.

I have had two passions for as long as I can remember - Travelling and The Highlands.

Growing up here in the Highlands, I have always been passionate about its history, places, people and our world class food & drink. I am particularly fond of our local craft beers!

I love to travel and I've always enjoyed getting off beaten track and experiencing things like a local. There is no better way to do this than self-catering.

Starting igloo with Erin not only allows me to combine these two passions but brings together my design, marketing and management skills built from a varied career across the public and private sector.

I have been brought up in Aviemore, as were many generations of my family before me. So I bring a deep rooted sense of love and responsibility to the area that I live in.
