Located on the Maitland River and close to downtown, this newly renovated (2021), two bedroom apartment is located in the lower level of a bungalow with a private accessible entrance. Includes a large open kitchen, dining and living area and two bedrooms. The second bedroom can be set up with two twin beds or one king bed. Amenities include a large parking area, high speed internet, games, laundry, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, patio furniture, fire pit (with wood provided) river access and more. 5 minute walk to downtown for restaurants and shopping. Close to parks, walking and biking trails in town, fishing (bass and trout) in season, bikes available to guests. Wingham is a small community that is central to many local attractions and is the birthplace of Nobel Laureate Alice Munro. 30 minute drive to Lake Huron, 35 minutes to Goderich, 15 minutes to Blyth which is home to Blyth Festival Theatre, Cowbell Brewery and the G2G trail. Several wineries and microbreweries located with a 15-45 minute drive. 9 hole golf course in town and numerous 18 hole golf courses within 30 minutes.

Everything about staying at the riverbank repose was exactly what we needed!! It was an easy check in and check out process. Also, there was everything we could ever need or think of in the apartment. The yard was beautiful and although we didn’t have much time to use the fire pit area, I loved that we had access to it! We came from Alberta and it truly was a home away from home! Thank you to the wonderful hosts!

AMAZING

Staying at Riverbend Repose was AMAZING. The children absolutely loved playing outside and looking for fish and frogs by the river while we had a campfire. The apartment is sooo clean and comfortable, just perfect for our family of 4. The owners are helpful and kind which made the stay easy and we will definitely be back!

We live just up the street. The property became available in 2020 and we decided to purchase it as a business investment. The upper level is a permanent rental. They are seniors so very quite. The lower level is a short term rental, but we often use it for personal use for large family events.

We renovated the unit with many sound proofing features. Each unit has their own heating and air conditioning so no shared vents. Sound proofing both in floors and ceiling construction. Our guests report almost no noise from the upper level. The only exception is opening and shutting of the exterior doors.

What makes this property unique

Wingham is a busy little town during the day, but a night becomes very quite. Enjoy the firepit down beside the river and watch the fire flies dance.
