About this property

Hazel's House

We are superbly situated on the Eastern edge of West Yorkshire nestling the borders of North Yorkshire and East Lancashire. Close to Haworth and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway with Skipton, the Gateway to the Dales is a short drive away for the more rural aspects however, a short trip east and you arrive at Bradford, Leeds, Harrogate and York.
We provide a well equipped kitchen with all the necessary utensils, pots, pans, a gas cooker, microwave, slow cooker, washer and touch free bin. The fridge/ freezer is slimline so is limited for space. However, Asda, Morrsions, Sainburys and Aldi are all only a mile away. There is a secure cold store in the porch that will keep beers and wines chilled.
The cupboards are well stocked with the usual condiments, stock cubes, oils etc and we have a small herb garden for our guests to use. Apologies, but we do not grow coriander/ cilantro due to allergies.
Tea, coffee, sugar and cereals will be provided for all stays however, for stays of 3 or more nights there will also be a welcome basket containing eggs, milk, bread, butter, breakfast pastries and a bottle of wine/ prosecco, real ale etc, the choice is yours.
We are completely pet friendly so there will also be some grain free treats for your furry companions.
There is a pet cupboard containing bowls of varying sizes, doggy towels, leads and poo bags. We have a couple of pet blankets in there too.
The spacious living/ dining area is adjacent to the kitchen. Here you have a leather 2 seater sofa, 1 leather armchairs, 1 electric recliner, electric faux flame fire and a Smart TV with Netflix.
Behind the chairs is a large dining table also suitable as a work space with the Internet connection directly next to it. The table can be extended if required.
There are a few games and the ubiquitous jigsaw puzzles including a jigsaw board. The boxes will be tied with a ribbon so we know it needs sanitising after use to keep you safe.
As you come through the front door there is an area for you to remove your outdoor gear and we have created a small basic drying area at the bottom of the stairs for your wet muddy boots and coats.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and a built in wardrobe with padded coat hangers.
The second bedroom has two single beds that can easily be pushed together if required, wooden clothes rails and two small cabinet drawers. Both bedrooms have a ceiling fan and blackout blinds.
All beds have Egyptian cotton bedding with Hungarian goose down quilts and goose down and feather pillows however, we can provide hollowfibre alternatives if preferable.
The bathroom has a walk in bath with a shower. Here you will find the clothes airer and a drying rack above the radiator.
The property is centrally heated throughout.
Outside we have a cold water tap and there is a large decking area that could easily accommodate a hot tub. We decided not to install one so people can use the space for different purposes however, there are local companies that hire them out for approx £120 for a weekend.
The patio area is also large enough for a table and chairs and/or a BBQ, which we can also provide if required. We are in the process of creating bespoke outdoor furniture in keeping with the bench already featured.
There is a small lawn but beyond this is a large green space for your use, this is shared by the neighbours but they rarely use it.
As the living area is so spacious it is possible to sleep two more people using an airbed. If this is something you would be interested in let us know.
Apologies, but we aren't really suitable for small children as we don't have stair gates, safety sockets, cot facilities etc but are happy to discuss it with you if our place is somewhere you'd like to stay. We do consider events but on a case by case basis so please get in touch to discuss it with us.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Hazels House and I can definitely say we will be staying here again. The house was perfect for our family and pooch. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and was just like home from home. Had everything we needed for a perfect stay from coffee and tea bags and even dog treats etc. Loved the garden area just a shame we didn't have the weather to spend a lot of time to sit out there!... Can't wait for our next visit, Thank you

Lovely stay
The house was easy to find and the instructions from the owner were perfect. It was very clean and tidy, and there were all the items you could possibly need for a home from home. The beds are really comfy and there is a lovely sun deck outside to watch the sunset. The location was great for trips on the steam railway, trips to Skipton and Saltaire. If you are looking for downsides, the decor is a bit older in parts, and some of the paintwork is a wee bit scuffed. So if that bothers you when renting a property, and you want a hot tub and all that jazz, then fair enough. But it didn’t bother us - it’s just finish. Everything is immaculately clean. We had a great stay and would recommend.

Super 👍 Great location and perfectly Equipped
I stayed there for a week and wasn’t disappointed. The hostess was extremely helpful from the booking and tips on what to see and do in the area and villages. The cottage is well maintained and extremely clean. Everything you need is there for a holiday. The beds are all comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Internet is fast enough for working from home as we also done that on our stay. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again. In short if you’re looking for a perfect English cottage for your holiday then this is it. Thanks again for all your helpful advice and friendliness .

Lovely family home
We stayed here while attending a sporting event weekend. Communication with the owner with first class. House was spotlessly clean, all modern appliances and those beds and pillows - I didn’t want to get up! Garden was beautiful, little seating area and gorgeous plants, wish I had longer to sit and enjoy it. Highly recommend this place, will be back soon for a walking weekend.

Short stay in Keighley
A well appointed and comfortable property the only downside being the on-road parking on a steep hill and we were unable to find a bread knife! Communication with the property owner was excellent and the wi-fi signal very good which helped as we were in Keighley for family business reasons. The location is good for travelling around the area despite the traffic in central Keighley - it helps if you know some of the alternative routes.
