About this property
The Moorings, pet friendly, overlooking Loch Fyne - sleeps 4 guests
The Moorings is a delightful , cosy cottage in the quiet village of Newton on the shores of Loch Fyne. Recently renovated it has 2 bedrooms, sleeping up to 4 people, the master has a Superking bed for 2 people, and the 2nd bedroom is a twin, all made up with lovely comfortable bedding to ensure you sleep extremely well on your holiday.
Newton is just outside Strachur, home of the famous Creggans Inn, it is a fantastic base for exploring all that Argyll has to offer. The cottage has wonderful views of Loch Fyne and the beach is less than a minutes walk from the front door. Newton also has its own jetty/pontoon, perfect for crab fishing with the kids or launching your paddle board or kayak. Wild swimming is very popular here too and there are many points of access to the beaches along the shores of the loch.
The cottage has a private back garden and there is seating and a BBQ out the front so you can enjoy the wonderful views and sunsets and sometimes the Northern Lights. There is a small but well equipped kitchen with large fridge, gas hob, double oven, microwave and small freezer. The kitchen is open plan to the dining area where you can also enjoy lovely views. There is an open log fire in the living room along with a Smart TV with NOW TV and Freeview you can also watch Netflix if you bring your log in with you, there is a selection of books and board games for cosy indoor days. Off the living room there is a passage/boot room/utility, equipped with washing machine, pulley for drying clothes and lots of hooks for hanging wet suits and coats. The shower room and loo are at the end of the passage. There is also a wc between the 2 bedrooms upstairs. Parking for 2 cars is just outside the front door.

About the host
Hosted by Amanda

Newton is such a lovely wee village, its good to be able to share it with guests. We live just up the road from the cottage so we are on hand if guests need anything while they are here.
Why they chose this property
Loch Fyne is just stunning, it is very rural peaceful with loads of great walks from your door step, the beach is less than a minute from your front door. The nearest town, Dunoon is only half an hour away or 90 minutes from Glasgow and Oban
What makes this property unique
It's quite quirky, it was an old cottage built in the 1960's, we have breathed some life into it and made it comfortable for guests, it's a perfect base for exploring all that the huge area of Argyll has to offer, then come back to a roaring fire, lovely views and very comfortable beds.
Also the garden is enclosed making it great for dogs.
